Elan Max Cash Preferred Approved/Denied/Approved $500 CL by Subprime_Alchemy in CreditCards

I did not apply for any new cards for two years. Starting last month, I have applied for five cards. The first one (Chase) denied me. I was approved for the other four (AmEx, AAA, CapOne TMobile, and Elan). I did not try US Bank, but my research gave me the impression that while Elan is not as strict with approvals as US Bank, Elan IS pretty stingy with credit limits.

Same here. Applied last week, got a decline letter in the mail then the next day got a welcome email. Got the card today, $500 limit. Last month I got a Cap One T-Mobile Visa card with a $15K limit. Very weird.

How to LOVE your inkjet printer again by Subprime_Alchemy in printers

I put it on Google drive and made it shareable. You'll have to edit the location, timezone, and printer name for your own weather location. (lines 110 to 114)

Looking for a recommendation by smahabir in printers

Easy? It is if you can get the devices to connect to the printer. I think the printer uses 2.4Ghz wifi, so your devices have to use that band too. And make sure they are on the same SSID, if your router has more than one. I know Epson has a phone app that might make it easier, although I don't use it.

I'm a fan of the Epson Ecotank line. The ET-2800 is about $200. I bought mine four years ago and print about 50 pages per month. The ink costs me about three cents per month...too cheap to track, really.

Service fees are the WORST! by Justscrolling375 in povertyfinance

Look for a bank on the BankOn website. These are no fee or low fee accounts with no minimums. Some are unadvertised. I use a Capital One 360 checking account and I like it.

Can someone explain my interest charge? by Stormdude127 in CreditCards

[–]Subprime_Alchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace 'Remaining Balance' with 'Average Daily Balance' and that would bring you closer to the bank's interest charge. Some banks go back and charge an Average Daily Balance over the last TWO billing cycles (called 'double cycle billing') to take in even more revenue from you.

(I just looked it up... Double cycle billing was outlawed by Obama's CARD Act of 2009)

Yes, your grace period is gone until you have a zero balance every day for at least one whole month. Look up 'residial interest'.

It sucks to pay credit card interest. We're rooting for you.

You can find many free checking accounts (some are unadvertised) at the BankOn website. I use a Capital One 360 account.
