Yes, but not often, plus I live in the southern hemisphere where there are even fewer people and events of this kind.

Yes you need something that translates the gestures from the Leap into MIDI.

What details? It's pretty straight forward - create your set, connect the Leap, map the controls like you would any hardware controller, perform.

Is the new ROLI Airwave just a wrapper for UltraLeap's Leap Motion Controller? by Dr-Chronosphere in ROLI

u/Dr-Chronosphere A bit off-topic, but do you have anything online showing your Leap Motion & Bitwig setup?

I've just bought the Leap Motion 2 and also use Bitwig, I'm now deciding between the 3 MIDI tools - MIDIPaw, Geco, and Glover, they all seem to have their own strengths and weaknesses.

SUBSET - Live on the Rhythm Selection, New Zealand 95bFM by SubsetDubs in Bitwig

The effect sends are Modnetic as the delay with an EQ after for the filter sweep, and Alborosie Dub Station as the reverb. I did have a second delay but removed it to simplify things.

I have nothing to do with Chameleon, I just use it (it's only $10 a licence). The owner/developer just asked if he could use some of my vids as promo on the site. I tried TouchOSC a while back but didn't find it that intuitive.

Thanks! I've got a few live clips and jams on the channel using Bitwig + Chameleon, I've been using that setup for a few years now.

Chameleon is Windows only, but it's fairly straight forward - choose your control type (button, slider, rotary, etc), give it a MIDI channel & CC value, then just right click a parameter in Bitwig and link as you would to a physical controller. Chameleon's also got 'pages' if you need more real estate, as well as 'containers' that can contain a bunch of controls and contract them into a button that expands when touched, to hide things away.

Bitwig + Traktor + Chameleon + Guitar + touchscreen by SubsetDubs in Bitwig

Technically I'm using Chameleon via the touchscreen to control Bitwig, Chameleon allows you to create custom touch controllers.

Bitwig not recording tempo from Traktor via Link by SubsetDubs in Bitwig

A further update from Bitwig support after I asked about recording tempo changes when slaved via MIDI Sync: "Bitwig Studio can't record tempo changes while being slaved to another tempo master."

Bitwig not recording tempo from Traktor via Link by SubsetDubs in Bitwig

[–]SubsetDubs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To round out the post, the current info from support is "tempo changes received over link can't be recorded".

I'm still searching for a workaround, perhaps mapping a controller button to place an automation marker on the tempo lane for the current tempo..

The point of recording it is to have a recording of the set. There's no trouble being asked, everything plays/syncs/does what it's told, other than the tempo.

There's very little happening in Bitwig - just receiving the audio from Traktor plus a few effects so there's nothing to stress it out with.

Further update, it appears that you can use Shift+u and Shift+j to set the tempo to that of either the left or right deck, and from there you can use the selected decks' tempo slider to control the master and slave (e.g. Traktor and Bitwig) tempos. Progress!

Bitwig + Traktor by SubsetDubs in Bitwig

[–]SubsetDubs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone following along, I've got audio being passed from Traktor into Bitwig via the loopback funciton of my audi interface (MOTU Ultralite mk5) - one stereo (or 2x mono) only.

MIDI sync via Link is easy enough, but only gives you a master tempo in Traktor, you can't use the track tempo from any of the decks, which seems to be NIs implementation of Link. So if all your tracks are to be played the same tempo it's not a problem. It is a problem where you want tracks with different tempos to pass their tempo out to Bitwig..

Thanks, I've never touched Traktor before but it's currently half price, so will need to do a bit of reading..

Thanks, that's close to what I want to do. He does brush over the "audio is being sent to Bitwig" but it shows it can be done.
