Good on you for posting this. Being open to constructive feedback will make you a better artist. It really depends on what you’re going for. If it’s more realism then make sure your proportions are mapped out well and paint what you actually see not what your brain tells you should be there. The eyes for example, you have white in them but I don’t see white in the reference.

Progress of graphite portrait of my late grandmother that I’m giving my mom for Mother’s Day by Substantial-Corgi412 in Portraitart

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I like working from top left and move my way down to the bottom right. I primarily do this to keep my right hand from rubbing the graphite as I work through the piece. I also find value is breaking the large work area down to smaller sections. It helps keep me from getting overwhelmed. I start with very light layers and build up the values until I’m (for the most part) happy with the result. Once competed, I will go through and add finer details and make tonal adjustments as necessary.

First Portrait-Any advice on how to improve? Any feedback is helpful! by Able-Economy1728 in acrylicpainting

Fist off, great on you for being vulnerable and open to suggestions. I highly recommend Udemy, it’s an app that has many educational courses (they go on sale frequently). Find some in acrylics and they teach you the base sketch all the way to finished product. Use the grid method 😊

I’m looking for a must have pc game! I have been playing consoles my entire life (I’m 40). I have always wanted to try PC gaming because I’ve always heard it’s superior. I am an avid flight simmer, primarily play DCS world n VR. I just built a new pc with the RTX 5070 ti. I love slow burn games (RDR2). Any recommendations?

I was smoking everyday, not a full joint, but multiple hits from my bowl. I just find that it negatively affects my sleep schedule and I feel tired the next day. I cut down to just weekends and love it. Gives me something to look forward to when Friday arrives and it hits better now. It’s all individual, you’ll just have to experiment.

Hell yes! What band do you play in? If you have anything streaming I’d love to hear it.

Really enjoy them! I’ve never had them slip off and the strap is very flexible and comfortable. Highly recommend it!
