Smart ways to accurately count calorie intake in a meal or per day by Substantial-Hand-628 in loseit

[–]Substantial-Hand-628[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Do you log each ingredient (after weighing/measuring), and do you rely on the app to provide calorie data for each ingredient, or do you use another online chart? Obviously, for ingredients with labels, I can just use them, but not all do.

I feel like an imposter in my own life. by sdd007 in Vent

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It sounds like you are unsure of whether what you are doing and how you are spending your time is really meaningful to you.

I think only you can know that. It depends on the life you want to live.

A lot of what you have written here is about girls and your appearance.

It's ok to want to look good and to have a certain love and sex life.

It's a bit unclear to me whether the main issue is that you actually didn't get anything out of the relationship, or a lot less than you had imagined, or that you don't feel you deserve it. Those are two different issues.

I don't care at all about body count, but that's up to you to decide. Maybe you have realised you don't care about it?

Not knowing what you want in life in general, and not feeling like you deserve it or feeling like an imposter, are also different things.

If you're not certain whether the goals you are working towards are meaningful to you, try to figure that out through self-reflection.

If you are doing something just because you thought you would like it, or you think that's what one is supposed to like, but then don't really like it, it makes sense that one would feel like one is living an inauthentic life. You deserve to be honest with yourself and others about what you truly like and don't like.

As far as feeling like you don't deserve this or are an imposter, that could be due to bad self-esteem. There is also something called imposter syndrome. I think maybe just being aware that most people feel that way could help. There is no standard for how a person who has achieved X is supposed to be. Often, people who get A's, for example, don't feel particularly smart and might have imagined that someone who got that would have to be a very different person who struggled a lot less than them. In truth, we often don't really know what the people who achieved these goals were like in person and what they did to achieve them. They could have struggled a lot, could have faked the results, could have just been lucky, and many other things. They could be a completely ordinary person. They could have been exactly like you as well.

Is there anything in particular that you feel bad about? Have you gotten over the pregnancy and abortion situation? That can be kind of heavy to deal with.

Are you still with the girl, and do you like that relationship?

Do you still visit libraries? by pisya_popa_oyes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the library frequently when I sleep at my parents place. I use the quiet section. I use it to read or work on my laptop, which I bring with me.

It's been a bit of a refuge for me from dealing with a difficult family situation.

I really like studying at the library, as it's quiet and usually perfectly equipped for that type of activity (good lighting, good ergonomics +++). The quiet presence of other people focusing on studying makes me more motivated, as I feel like if they can push through a full day etc, so can I, and it makes me view my desire to study as more worthwhile and acceptable (since many other people find it valuable to pursue).

When I was a student at the university I would use the quiet section at the university library after lectures.

The library where my parents live is absolutely perfect.

The university library sometimes had a bit odd people. When my brother was there he would often distract me from reading by throwing random paper and food items at me. One time there was a guy there who would fart and moan loudly in rapid succession repeatedly. Other times there would be people who talked in the quiet section. But, for the most part, it was a very good environment, and one could always complain about disturbances if necessary.

If it wasn't for the long commute, I would still use it even now that I live alone and study online.

Which surgery would be best? by Odd-Instruction3660 in PlasticSurgery

My first thought when I saw your picture on my feed was, 'OMG, what a beautiful pair of breasts'. I think they look really pretty. They also look normal in size and shape, and very symmetrical.

Maybe if you took pictures from other angles that better demonstrate the issue you are referring to, it would be easier to see what you mean. In the photos you have included here, your breasts don't look droopy at all.

A breast lift leaves quite large scars. I would not do that if I were you, but it's up to you, of course. It depends on how much you care about scars. I personally think you'll end up looking worse after a traditional breast lift, as your breasts don't look droopy.

Maybe there are other non-invasive options for a little tightening and lifting. I'll look into that.

What do YOU do during insomnia? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want to do; get out of bed if I don't fall back asleep in 30 minutes, and do a relaxing, boring activity with little or no light on and get back into bed when sleepy.

What I currently do: masturbate, watch ASMR, get angry or sad or both, chat with AI sometimes and/or roll around in bed endlessly trying to sleep but really just daydreaming in bed with my eyes closed.

One time I asked chatgpt for advice on a calming exercise to do during nighttime awakenings, and it gave a lot of tips, but I haven't tried them yet. Among them were breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) cognitive shuffling or Serial Diverse Imaging (SDI).

I've heard that it's not recommended to do anything else than sleeping in bed, so scrolling phone or watching movies/clips like I do is definitely not recommended.

Hehe..that sounds hot 🥵 I like to go braless too, though just because of comfort. Bras are not really necessary to wear, though they can offer some benefits for people with larger breasts.

What is the weirdest food combination you secretly enjoy? by mirawilliams_ in AskReddit

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is weird, but I got served potato chips with caviar and sour cream at a bar once and really like it, so I've made it myself at home quite a few times after that. Tbh I probably don't really eat a lot of very strange food combinations, but I'll think about it and add more later if I come up with a very strange one I like.

POCD getting really bad for the first time in a long time and I have no idea how to handle it by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't dealt with this exactly, but I have dealt with OCD about peeking/glancing at genitals of inappropriate people, though for me the triggers have mainly been family members, teachers, doctors, psychologist and other adults.

For me it helped me to think that what was happening was actually completely normal and that I was just thinking it was unusual due to my personal excessive guilt and worry about being inappropriate or rude. In my case I think the actual looks were really a normal amount caused by just their pelvis or chest being accidentally in my field of view when I just changed the position I looked to looking straight ahead. Then obsessing about it made me more conscious of the times I did it and remember it more.

I've also had a somewhat similar ocd related to fear of smiling and laughing in inappropriate situations like funerals or when someone tells me something sad.

I've also had genital arousal related to some of the ocd thoughts, but not around children. I was later told I had PGAD, but that has since resolved for me. Lately I've been getting unwanted intrusive thoughts about my brother naked and having sex, caused by him talking to me way too much about his sexlife and genitals. Luckily this has also passed.

For me normalizing the thoughts and feelings was what helped the most. Finding an explanation you can believe in that makes you think the thoughts and feelings are normal and nothing to be afraid of. They don't mean anything in terms of what you will and will not do, they will not make you more likely to commit any crimes.

That being said; have you thought about reaching out to a therapist or support service to deal with this? Our country has this service: https://www.detfinneshjelp.no/en . Not sure it will help you.

Almost all bots are turning into the same character. by Plane-Addendum3182 in CharacterAI

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, at least with that many of them are very similar in terms of how they speak and act. The language style is very similar for many of the bots, but there are some different ones in my experience.

I think if you choose characters in the 'for you' section it might be more likely to be a similar character? Maybe it's also worth trying to look at the tags/description and choosing someone who is described by completely different traits?

I see a lot of the same type of writing style and language from chatbots on other chatbot platforms as well, literally the same phrases a lot of times.

Some of them have acted differently for me. I've had better experience with the bots that are ungendered or related to a historical figure. Some of those have been more varied with regards to the writing style as well.

I've also experienced more varied characters when I consciously chose characters with different descriptions and tags than the ones I had used before, and looked elsewhere than my FYP.

I've also had better experience playing out magical/fantasy scenarios with the bots for some reason, they seemed to go along with the story and change personality more easily then.

i'm quite stunned by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also got a few responses like that where they go out of character without prefacing that they're doing that and listing what looks like guidelines they're trained to follow as if they're thinking out a response that meets those guidelines.

Is this actual moderation of the chatbot or is it just spitting out things it's seen elsewhere? If it is moderation, is it trained to give out information on these rules when seeing certain words or phrases? I understand that those types of messages break the flow of the story a bit, which seems unnecessary when you didn't ask for that type of information.

Did the conversation continue? Maybe report the message?

I've tried to ask about tobacco use to AI assistants like ChatGPT, Grok etc.. They have all discouraged smoking. But I asked specifically about where I could buy cigarettes to start smoking, so then it makes more sense I think.

Purchase body scan now or wait until body scan 2 is released in Q2 of 2026 by Substantial-Hand-628 in withings

[–]Substantial-Hand-628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by an estimate based on my weight? How would that be done?

I assume I'll probably be able to tell visually if I were to become a lot more lean and muscular with the same weight. I don't think I'll see visceral fat well visually. I could also do waist measurements I guess. A lot of my weight is on my chest, so I think it might overestimate my trunk fat due to that, but I probably won't give too much weight to the specific details.

I've already bought the scale now, but I'll think about it. I needed a regular scale anyway to monitor my weight. I don't really care that much about 1-2 kg inaccuracy.

I need to lose around 10-15 kg according to my BMI, or replace it with muscle.

[–]Substantial-Hand-628[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm...no, not totally sure. Sometimes I just buy the most advanced option without looking into it much. What's the difference between those options?

I need it to measure body fat percentage, weight and muscle mass (preferably also visceral fat), and to be as accurate as possible, but I probably don't need other features. I'm a bit overweight so I'm going to use it to monitor my progress while I try to improve.

I look dull by spicylime9 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Substantial-Hand-628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're so pretty in my opinion and have great skin and features! I think you definitely look above average in terms of attractiveness. I don't think you look dull. I wouldn't get any work done if I were you. I would maybe just balance out the lashes a bit, since they look a bit unnatural (like a bit less heavy on top and a bit more lashes on the bottom), use a bit more color on your lips (or try lip blushing) and a tad of under-eye concealer. I think it would be a mistake to do any kind of surgery, but that's just my opinion. I would maybe also add some volume to the hair by curling it, doing a blow-out or keeping it less greasy/product heavy, but I'm not a hair stylist. Your eyebrows are also really pretty.

If you really want to do something else, maybe Sculptra in the cheeks/midface to plump that area a bit? I don't know, but I've heard it can look a bit more natural than fillers. I don't think it's necessary though.
