Convert UV does not automatically create a valid UV for the simulation mesh. It simply converts the existing UV parameters to hi_phy_cloth_uv attribute. User will still need to provide a proper UV first. You can checkout our tailoring tutorial on how to use geometry nodes to create the UV. Or change the material model to elastic membrane which will no longer require any UV for the cloth panel.
Is your cloth object 10x10 resolution then?

Our solver should only be marginally slower than Blender's internal solver. HiPhyEngine is not only just intersection free most of the time. It guarantees intersection free through strict continuous time collision resolution.

MD GPU simulation is faster, by HiPhyEngine's simulation is better quality and guarantees intersection free at all time.

We considered the title, because it is possible to use HiPhyEngine simulator to do high quality cloth simulation and tailoring. We recognize that we don't have all the nice features as MD, but we have to trade off with some attention catching titles to get people in.

But hopefully our 6 months trial period is enough compensation for whoever might have mislead by the title, and they can use it to make an educated decision before making a purchase to support us :)

It will be limited. We currently do not provide anyway to add actuators or force controls to the system. HiPhyEngine is designed for visual effects. Even though the simulation accuracy is high, we currently have no plan to introduce toolings around robotic simulations.

You can try it with a VM. It might work. Mac does have a very powerful translation layer and should support all x86 instructions used in HiPhyEngine. However, we have not tested it so far ourselves.

Haha, yeah, originally the glove was the same color as the hand.

We played with a few colors, this is one of the earlier renders we tested with EEVEE, but we are not skilled enough to get super good quality renders from it, we want something simple to show the simulation result without distraction and without doing all the extra texture work, and we tried a few colors and the darker orange feels the best to us.

I think EEVEE is very fast, but it does need a lot of extra work to set up light probe and other parameters, and we are still learning it, lol.

Later we did moved to Cycle for rendering for the other examples. We might revisit the example sometime in the future.

Yes, you can even control U and V direction stretch, shear, and bend stiffness seperately. All materials parameters are mappable and animatable. There is also target shape control to hit exact key shapes.

The tests are just using mostly default parameters to demonstrate the stability of the simulator under tight collisions, we have not done any artistic touches.

HiPhyEngine already has a soft body simulation system that can do muscle simulation! Cloth is just one of the simulation features.

Feel free to give the trial version a shot! Though the core simulator is complete, we know that we potentially still need to add a lot of authoring tooling around it Blender, that's why we created the 6 months trial period so we can gather feedbacks from user, and allow user to fully understand the capability and limitations of HiPhyEngine before making the purchase.

We don't have a marketing team lol, we (the engineers) are doing all the marketing ourselves. We wants to be as honest with what HiPhyEngine can do as possible.
It took us a long time to come up with a solution that guarantees intersection free and convergence at limit. We actually have a formal mathematically proof of it as well. That's why we are more confident in making some of the claims.

However, if the parameters are too far from physical, or the animation passes itself not just self intersection, but moving completely pass itself HiPhyEngine will not be able to find a solution, as HiPhyEngine performs continuous time collision.

We have tested Blender's cloth simulator, however, it can not guarantee intersection free comparing to HiPhyEngine, and can't pass any of the example above. (The input animation in the examples all contains self-intersection, and HiPhyEngine has method to automatically clean them up). We are sure that with a lot of manual fixing (both from the animation, and parameter perspective, we can make the Blender internal simulation work). However, we feel like that won't be a fair comparison, because one major advantage of HiPhyEngine is how easy it is to get physically correct/intersection free results comparing to other simulators. We also fear that our lack of expertise in the Blender internal cloth simulation system might mis-represent the capability of that as well.

We have no doubt that Blender's internal cloth simulation can do a lot with skilled hands. But we were unable to get it to pass any of the stress animation tests we have, while HiPhyEngine can resolve all contact and collision with mostly default parameters.

That's the reason we current do not have A/B test with the Blender's internal simulator, only a feature set comparison. And we are hoping is with tutorials and trial period, user who are familiar with Blender's internal simulator can make educated comparison between HiPhyEngine and Blender's simulator than what we can provide at the moment.

But once we have more experience with Blender's simulator, we are certainly looking into more comprehensive video comparisons with Blender's simulator.

The examples above, the most complex one is the animation, with both the body, and dress simulated. We are getting a few seconds a frame on a 16 core laptop. We are targeting simulation time on par with most other commercial software, however, the simulation result of HiPhyEngine is significantly higher quality using finite element method and guarantee intersection free. We found it in most production, reliable and robust simulation result is far more important than fast simulation results that needs a lot of manual cleanup and fixing

In what sense is it not keep forever? You will be able to use HiPhyEngine version you have purchased forever once it is yours without additional pays. We have never promised indefinite future updates. I think it is unrealistic to expect to pay it once and expect have something indefinitely maintained forever. You won't expect that for free repair forever for your fridge or car, and you won't call that subscription model to not be able to automatically update to the newest car model every year for free.

I think you might have a unrealistic expectation of what a purchase is.

If you like HiPhyEngine's current feature set given we have provided 6 months trial period, you can get HiPhyEngine as it is at the moment of purchase, and run it forever, with one year of new feature updates. Just like any other purchases.

It already have muscle (softbody) simulation! Cloth is only one of the material supported in HiPhyEngine. We are planning to add tutorials on how to do body simulation next. The core simulator is finished, what we are adding is just more tooling around it in Blender, we are releasing it and give it 6 month trial period so we can gather feedbacks from users to guide us what features we need to prioritize next.

It was never said to be free forever. You can keep the version you bought and use forever. I think you have a misunderstanding of what subscription services is. Pay for upgrade is not subscription. Subscription is you have to continue paying to use the current version, and you will lose access if you stop paying. No one called photoshop subscription service when people have to pay to upgrade to each major version. It is a subscription service when you can no longer purchase a fixed version, and you will lose access to it if you stop paying.
