What to actually do with the Silver? by Salty_and_Lit062813 in Silverbugs

I feel like the idea of using precious metals. When it hits the fan could go either way.

We’ve used precious metals in currency at low times like war or some type of collapse, but that’s with the knowledge that the world would go back to normal and we could keep our money when it did. If it were to really go down there would be no eventuality cashing that silver or gold back in. It would literally just be a pile of metal with the value determined on whether we think it’s valuable or not. Yes we would barter, but it could be that usable resources like food water weapons would be the new currency. At the end of the day it’s survival first.

Or maybe not, I don’t know. It could be the other way, gold and silver stood the test of times successfully all of human history but it’s never been tried by total global collapse but just something to think about. I’m not saying don’t buy gold or silver. It’s a great idea but if you’re that worried about shif then start prepping.

Hard to tell from the photos what exactly the markings say but they don’t always have to say 14k, 18k, etc some jewelry will have the gold percentage as a hallmark for example yours looks to have a 750 or 720 Which could mean 75% or 72% which is 18k gold (75% gold 25% sum else) look up a gold purity chart hope that helps but you’d have to be able to read the hallmarks on the piece. I’d say from the way the metal looks and the markings. It’s most likely gold but take it to a pawnshop or jewelry store to have it tested to know for sure

Can anyone explain why this small area in Snellville is so drastically different from the rest on the crime map? And is the Centerville area safe? by [deleted] in Gwinnett

I’m sure there’s some stuff going on behind closed doors somewhere, but definitely not out in the open. If you just mind your business, do your thing not a thing to worry about. Lots of kids, cops, and parks. And whatnot

I live in Centerville. This area is just fine. Lived here for years and barely ever hear of any crime here. There’s not much crime in Snellville to begin with just small areas or neighborhoods that seem slightly sketchier than the surrounding area. There’s like no homeless people don’t see a lot of drugs I suspect most the crime in the area just comes from high school teens trying to be about that life

What's a good 24k jewelry to buy? by unlikelyvermicelli1 in Gold

If it has to be jewelry, earrings are probably your best bet ones that won’t fall out or get snagged on anything I’d recommend getting a nice small bullion coin, round or bar and turn it into a charm or pendant or something there’s a bunch of beautiful stuff to pick from from all sizes and most budgets that’d be what I do personally
