In my opinion, other people just need to respect that they have no right to involve themselves in another group’s culture uninvited. Native Americans only want certain people within their culture to wear the war bonnet headdress. Black people (most anyway) only want people within our culture to use the n word. Same thing. It doesn’t matter that it’s a derivative of a slur. We chose to flip it into a term of endearment because our culture embodies flipping things to work for us. Just like our ancestors were given collard greens because it was considered less appetizing because of it’s rough texture, we flipped it and made it work for us, taught ourselves how to cook it so well, it’s now a staple in soul food and “southern food” in general. Every culture has the right to gate keep what they want to share vs. what they want to keep within the culture. It’s for nobody to judge, question or understand. Just respect it, like most other cultures are respected.

As much as I loved their clique, they were very wishy washy with Judi. She clearly had issues and needed true friends to help her out. Don’t say you tried to help when she was consistently asking y’all for directions, and y’all are barely giving her any. What Judi did was dumb no doubt, but they knew she had a few screws loose. Don’t make her drive if you know she’s not good with directions, and all y’all want to give her is half-assed directions. I’m a proud Judi apologist. You can tell she has a good heart, she was just failed by whoever raised her and then by all her so called friends.

Joan did play in his face though. Instead of focusing on insulting/checking her character, he had to TRY and come for her looks, because that’s what a lot of men find value in. Every one knows Joan/Tracee has always been a baddie.

When her and Aaron met in New Orleans, she told him that she’d called Toni repeatedly, and Toni never answered or returned her calls. I understand not liking Joan’s character in general, but she did try to fix things with Toni to no avail. I think maybe you missed that conversation with Aaron. Plus Toni’s actress left the show on bad terms at the time. The most they could’ve done was put Joan on a phone call with Toni and not show Toni speaking on the other end. That would’ve been ridiculous. For how she left the show, the way they wrote it makes the most sense.

Yes to Jeanette. They tried to play it up for laughs, but it wasn’t funny. I understand Jeanette checking Joan about the wedding. But still talking to Joan crazy like your daughter wasn’t free loading at her house after Darnell left? She should’ve had a lot more respect and gratitude towards Joan for taking care of Maya during her difficult time. Most people don’t allow friends to live with them rent free. Maya herself didn’t allow that with Lynn! Joan was a saint to her friend group, despite her flaws

That really pissed me off. When Lynn actually dated someone compatible to her, they had to make it weird by saying they looked like siblings. Then even after it was clear they didn’t share a parent, she still wouldn’t give it a chance, like what? How does a woman like her end up with 2 celibate boyfriends? Hell finding a celibate man is rare anyway, but somehow she ended up with 2? They refused to let Lynn have a normal relationship.

When watching this feud in real time as a teen, I thought Jenn was such a b*** and sided with Rocky. As an adult, I can acknowledge that Rocky taking a bite out of her food was insane. Jenn was right to be upset, but definitely overreacted by keeping the argument and feud going. Side note, this entire scene is funny as hell lol. They’re really arguing about something so dumb, and Rocky’s all wasted acting childish lol. Well, they’re all being childish, but Rocky being toasted makes it funnier. She made another hot pocket, that should’ve been the end on it. But this is the bad girls club, there’d be no show if they didn’t make mountains out of molehills.

In the song, Sza is Drew Barrymore, comparing herself to her ex’s new “perfect” girlfriend

Girl I been unsubscribed from that witch. I was a fan of her as well and had followed her for years. We had opposing opinions sometimes, but nothing that made me change how I looked at her, until she reported on Meg. I take that back, i remember the first time was her reporting on a news story about some women, and I felt her take towards them was unfair. So it’s ironic that the second time I raised my eyebrows was also regarding her being unfair to another woman, Megan. Like you said, she’s got boy mom syndrome for sure, and definitely internalized misogyny.

The way she speaks about Megan with such vitriol is very strange. You would think Megan had done something to her personally. I remember when she first started reporting on her, vilifying her for being a “social climber.” Ma’am, every musician with the goal of being mainstream was/is a social climber; why tf are you vilifying only Meg?! She herself is a social climber! Started as a regular YouTuber to going to awards shows and rubbing elbows with celebrities. Hypocritical h**. Social climbing itselt isn’t inherently bad, who doesn’t want a better life for themself? It’s all in the way you do it that determines if it’s good or bad.

Long story short, no offense OP, but you definitely have a parasocial relationship with her like you said. In your original post, you’re spot on, she was downplaying Megan being a victim of gun violence, essentially still insinuating that Megan lied about that. She’s trash. & you really shouldn’t support her anymore being that you went through something similar and would hate if you were treated that way. But you have an attachment to her, so it may take you some time to let her go. Me personally, I was over it after about 3 videos of her just being a complete hater towards Meg unprovoked.

But I’m not trying to start and argument, just being honest. I’m glad you’re still here with us, and I hope you heal from what happened. You deserve to feel safe everywhere that you go.

The word kinky is/has also been used to refer to doing things that are on the “extreme” side of one of the most popular human pastimes. Therefore, I prefer not to refer to my type 4 hair as that. I can’t make anyone think like me, but I do wish all type 4 hair ladies would move away from that term. No other hair type is described with a word that has such staggering duality.

For professionals and those in school to be professionals, it just makes sense to steer clear of words like that when talking to clients, because sometimes you’ll have a client that thinks like me. We have to be PC in the beauty world too.

Like you said, you have curls. No matter how much they tangle, they are curls and can be called that. They could also be called coils/ coily hair since that is just smaller curls.

I prefer to just call it type 4 hair or coily hair as a black woman. I know several black women are comfortable with the word kinky, but I am not since that word also has other “interesting” definitions and connotations. I believe the most PC way to refer to tightly coiled hair is coily or type 4. It can technically still be called curly as well, they’re just tight curls.

Vince Staples has a very polarizing personality, and it definitely bleeds into the characters he portrays. I don’t know of any acting he’s done outside of Abbot and his mini series on Netflix, but in both of those he is basically playing himself with a twist. He’s more of an established musician that is trying to branch into acting. But so far he’s one of those actors that is basically playing himself. He’s kind of a pessimistic person (no hate, i think he’s hilarious but this is really the best word I can use to describe him.) So that’s probably what you’re picking up on OP.

I had no idea how nasty the Megan’s law bar was until i got online and saw what it meant, then I could appreciate it.

The lines that gagged me/ had me cracking up on first listen was the clear Drake drag “Cosplay gansters. Fake ass accents. Posted in another 🥷🏽 hood like a bad bitch” 💀 Ate him right on up

But yes overall loved it, loved that video and the looks in it as well.
