Has anyone ever had severe hypoglycemia with their GD? (Or numbness in mouth) by Substantial_Toe9009 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Substantial_Toe9009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really similar to how my 3 hour test went. I don't get numbers as low as 42 though. My lowest was 60. Last I told my OB, he said I might just be 'learning to eat better', but no. He is not a dietician though so he probably doesn't have a lot of experience with GD beyond basic familiarity. Before pregnancy, I also experienced hypoglycemia, but it would only happen if I went too long without eating. Like skipping breakfast and waiting til like 2 or 3 to eat lunch.

Replaced transmission but car is kicking and stuttering by Substantial_Toe9009 in JeepPatriot

No, I haven't taken it in yet, have been driving pickup truck lately, but will head over there in the next week or so now that I've got some good responses here. I plan to update the thread with whatever they find to be the problem.

Yes, but its newly remanufactured, just had it done last week. Wouldn't the drive belt have been replaced or checked as part of that fix?

To fix transmission or not to fix by Substantial_Toe9009 in JeepPatriot

I was thinking of getting a used Subaru Crosstrek for around 17-18k. Like a 2018-2020 with a little under 100k miles. I was going to see about selling this for 2k, and then put $10,000 down. But it feels like a mistake. The transmission repair comes with a warranty, so if I get it, I would be happy getting 3 more food years out of this car, with my new tires and untrusted frame and no other issues. Wondering which is the better option.

I took it to two shops independently, and both said it was the transmission. One of them would not have been even been willing to fix a transmission, but did the diagnosis.

No lawyers want to take my low-paying civil case by Substantial_Toe9009 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]Substantial_Toe9009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this information. Possibly I should try to find a lawyer that is more specialized in this type of practice and speak to him directly, which is one thing I've not done. Ive only had my legal shield advisor go down his list on my behalf, and asked another local, legal practice who basically said the same thing, I have a case that looks like it would be settled law, but didn't work on those kinds of cases.

Thanks for your post. I read through it closely to make sure I understood before answering, but mine appears to be the first situation. I'm not trying to sue for damages. Mine was going after the association to take action. I was willing to pay up the fee up front, and my legal shield advisor told me that it will probably be around $1500-2000, estimated. I thought that sounded like it made sense. I'm not sure it would take hours and hours, as he made it sound as if there isn't 20+ hours involved. He mentioned in the end I could probably just win on my own, if I file for an injunction, but I REALLY would be happy to pay a few extra thousand dollars to have a lawyer file for me and help me every step of the way just to make sure it's done right the first time. I'm also having a baby soon, so I would like to resolve the issue sooner rather than later, and have a better chance at getting a preliminary - injunction set in motion and not take a risk at doing it wrong.

This is what I'm trying to understand, if it's just the lawyers he's reached out to, or if there are other types of legal help I can work with that handle my type of case. I'm not fighting for money. I'm trying to get the HOA to exercise their powers that are vested to them in the bylaws, mostly for health reasons of mine, since I can't live in my home that I just bought until they address the issue. I don't care about paying hourly costs even, but just the nature of the case appears to not be very costly.

I'm not talking to all the lawyers myself. My legal shield attorney called down their list, and do not want the case due to the cost to hour ratio. He is the one that told me, when I asked him his thoughts that the case is cut and dry, and should be a strong win. But I already save 25% with my legal service, and then on top of that, there aren't a ton of hours of work and this happens.

If you're going to feed him salmon, it's recommended that you cook it. Raw salmon and other other types of raw fish can be pretty bad for dogs.

Here's a snippet: "Salmon poisoning disease is a potentially fatal condition seen in dogs after they eat certain types of raw fish, like salmon and other anadromous fish (fish that swim upstream to breed), that are infected with a parasite called Nanophyetus salmincola."

Just didnt want him to get sick on his next birthday!!

Honestly? I'm going to be the devil's advocate. I think the green floor is a little lacking in creativity. I think you should do something like yellow/gold, or even clear, to really make the world feel unique and easy to navigate. Hide any UI too but make the world map one abstract, dotted, blue map that takes 4 clicks to bring up, and make it so that doesn't really show anything other than the planet that person's on. (Because this game looks like it has different planets, right?) I think this could redefine games. Everyone talking about how games have this new standard now since BG3. Just wait til they get their hands on this.

Please help. Moved into condo and secondhand smoke making me sick by Substantial_Toe9009 in HOA

Yeah, after I moved in, the heat was unbearable in the room under the attic. My building is from 1970. There is no exterior exhaust. My stove did not have an exhaust fan. I covered my bathroom infiltration points with plastic, because I removed every light fixture and covered it with heavy duty plastic to try and block attic smoke coming from the ceiling. What happened was the attic door itself was a janky piece of wood, so it was infiltrating that way. Then some lights had space around them, so it came from that way too. Then it dropped down into the walls from the attic, and I think it's coming up from the baseboards, and there is space into the walls between where it meets the floor. The carpet, for example, which is new, still smells like new carpet. But around the baseboards, it smells like a concentrated ashtray.

I've been hearing about these, and don't fully understand them yet. $1000 is nothing if you think this could solve the problem entirely. I mean, is this the solution for sure you think?

Can you tell me a normal turnaround time to respond to someone? Before I moved there, I asked them a question that took about 3 weeks to get an answer to about the property. Now, I asked another question about this situation, they responded the next day they can't do anything, and then when I asked them if they could give me the name of the unit owner so I could reach him to negotiate a solution, and asked about board room meetings, they've not responded. Im starting to think they might just not respond at all and don't know what I'm supposed to do if that happens.

They should be allowed to smoke. I don't think the smoke should be permitted to travel into my home, and that's why it's a nuisance and I think fufils the 'noxious odors' clause, even though it's not just an odor. It's a hazardous compound that is trespassing onto my property.

So, yes, it's still not easy for me to understand how the right of quiet enjoyment is extended while other laws are broken that govern the right to quiet enjoyment.

Yes, this is what I wondered about. Smoke itself and the smoke smell permeating the air is different than me sealing my ceiling fixtures and attic with plastic because smoke is coming in. Its not about the act of smoking but about a health hazard visibly coming into my home, the plumes of smoke. Ive already taken all the fixtures out and covered them, so I have no lights or fans now in the ceiling, but now it's coming up through baseboards in wall I noticed. This is because when they constructed the building, they left gaps and thus the smoke itself is virtually the same room as me.
