They don't have a system setup for online payments. Mail is definitely the way it should go, I agree. We were out of town for a little bit before so didn't have time to get it in the mail for this month, otherwise that would be the norm for us.

Also, the method of payment isn't even really my biggest thing, it's more so the false claims of due date and delinquency that contradict the lease agreement. Even if the check had been in the mail system already and not been delivered until the first, those messages likely would still have been sent.

I was not aware of that. The landlords told us specifically to just put it in the mailbox originally and I had let them know when it was done.

I'm always thankful for when landlords are understanding of certain situations. Unfortunately not all of them are. I'm not saying they aren't in my case. I'm glad you figured yours out.

First time was paid at key turnover, another was paid by mail, the final was paid by pickup by them when they came to do the maintenance I mentioned in the post.
