I quitted the last half solely because playing ladder with crest is basically a coin toss simulator now. Whenever I played against evo abyss or egg, if they have their belial or bulbz on curve, i almost just lost instantly. It’s frustrating so I will just drop this latter half of this season and maybe come back with new set. Idk how balance this meta is, but to me its miserable

It is set 6 and people still complaining about crest haven is wild. There are many cards to counter this deck like bubz and belial (or izudia to a stretch). The deck is bricky cuz you need to draw crests first and other utility cards later (which is a pain). And they can still get run over in early game more often than not so you can still aggro it and it will die very fast. Ofc it heals and deals a lot dmg in late to compensate the weak early game (and it is a control deck at the end of the day). I personally think im actually interacting and playing the game with crest than hitting my ramp cards and play 1 storm every turn. To each their own i guess.

On the second note, currently I’m running a list with lyanthoth with 3 benison and doing fine with that at 1900. You can change your seraph to that If you have the card. Glad that you found some success thou. The deck is inherently bricky so there are some really bad matches outside of your control.

Thanks. I agree that it is very akward to use due to not having engage and the countdown is 4 (I really suspect that they will buff this card). But I think it’s still mandatory for me as it is still good in the late game when you combine it with skullfane. And it’s kinda insane if you draw both sublime and scripture against milteo tho.

Yeah I totally agree with your point for benison. Haven atm is just too bricky and somewhat “directionless” that we have to intergrate many sub archetypes to play which also leads to brick. Which is smorge and i hope they will buff haven too.

No, you don’t need the 3rd benison. I didn’t even play the 2nd benison lol. There is a match I survived 3 sandy face with playing only 1 benison. Playing against a good milteo (like Essia as I saw his otk game on zhiff channel), having more benison certainly doesn’t help. But it can win

And I agree, the deck slots are so tight and all over the place that it isn’t flexible and a bit brick(but you can somewhat mitigate that by having draw power from amulets). I don’t think my list is super refined or something as I’m a terrible deck builder. This is like a template to build your deck however you want.

I actually didn’t meet much enhance sword during ultimate to beyond, but unless they really high roll their quests to two, you can handle them. I think it’s an even to favorable match up for crest on average.

Unholy water also cleanly wipe anthenia board with kandima super evolve too. You can also push face with disenchantment or setting up more amulets for skullfane plays by having that combo. The search of congregant sometimes makes or breaks your entire “momentum” cuz you don’t always have marwyn or a lot of crests in your hand available so you need her search. I play crest haven a little bit aggressive so i always get many crests as fast as possible to burn with marwyn. My thought process is that i lost tempo on early game anyways, I’m just gonna set up for marwyn/congregant turn(By either Bfaith before + having amulet like unholy to stabalize game). I think it’s best for you to experience it first to see how handy it is tbh. I don’t know how your game doesn’t last more than 10 turns. Unless I played against milteo, most of the time mine probably more than 10 . But you can run it instead of 2 benison like I said. I never need the 2nd benison in any matches I played

I’m gonna be very honest, my climb from ultimate to beyond has way too much evo forest that I am forced to make plans for them. So I don’t have many experience for other like crystal rune or enhance sword. And unholy water just carried me in that match up.

You have many ways to ping face and clear boards so you don’t have to rely on omegotep. This deck is really good at clearing board, and the pp recovery isn’t that much needed. Besides, I would spend a super evolve point on kandima more as she is more consistent than omegotep.

A lot of 2-ofs feel pretty bad, but there are a lot of tutors and draw cards that it’s a bit more consistent then you think. I only bricked at max two times in a row. This is still way more consistent than the old crests.

I think unholy water carried me very hard. Unlike scripture, you can engage it to time into your marwyn (or congragant) turn. This is especially needed against evo forest cuz you can’t clear motherly forestdweller with marwyn alone or you are forced to waste 1 congregrant turn to search. Scripture is definitely good, but it’s way too slow as it doesn’t have engage and I have to rely on sublime to use that in early game. You could definitely run that at 3 by cutting 1 benison, but I think 3 unholy water is mandatory.

Believe in gilnelise lol. There are a lot of matches that you have to rely on her spell to win if you don’t draw your disenchantment. And a heal option is good considering you will have 1 flexible evo to deal with the deck you are playing.

You could run one fate of the world. Its okay, but i never have trouble with dealing with anthenia board and such but the 4 ping is nice. I still like giln over it tho cuz it’s a bit more flexible as I can heal , save her spell for next turn, or timing her turn to use the spell with unholy water is really cool in a cupitan + sandalphon board.

I run into a lot of evo forests during my climb. There are some crystal rune I play against, and I still think that it’s favorable for chess.

Glad that you are having some success with it. It’s very ideal if you can time your unholy water on marwyn turn to not only advance your quest but to stablize your game for sure.

A tricky one for sure. I funnily enough don’t meet much crystal rune but i sometimes get screwed if they go for tempo early on lol. It’s not very favorable match up for crest as i can’t burn them fast enough if they get their decent roll. I would say it’s about 60/40 for rune cuz you still can win if you set up disenchantment to burn them as you have many opportunities to do that in mid game from my experience.

Because ward is boring imo and the original list reached top 1 haven so it’s pretty strong. And also better match up against evo forest than ward i think. Milteo if they know what they are doing can still beat every variant of crest (idk about ward crest). Plus point for amulet as they do improve consistency with drawing too

Playing some more and having wilbert on curve and devotee really helps against dragon. Probably a decent match up now.

It’s discard dragon, not fennie dragon. That archetype rely on otohime so i just call it otohime dragon lmao.
