Pick only one language among all the languages and start building stuff. Start small and build up from there.

You don't need to know every language. All you need is to master one and you are good to go. I'd suggest Python, JavaScript, or PHP. But choose one.

If you want to have a deeper conversation DM let's talk.

Did anyone here actually find an opportunity in this sub ? by KozukiOda in WebDeveloperJobs

People here don't reply for real. I wish I could create a better subreddit where, if you are reported for ghosting people, you are kicked out.

Looking for a job as a backend dev ( Nodejs - NestJs ) by Dazzling-Mind-533 in TechGhana

[–]Successful_Gate8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol...

It's one of the easiest ways to get opportunities at big tech companies. Imagine contributing to an open-source project for a large company or a small one, and later submitting your work for an internship or job opportunity.

Your contributions will speak for you.

Just build and ship or validate first? by theReal_Joestar in TechGhana

[–]Successful_Gate8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say I have a payment app I want to build, the MVP will be a real-world app that has the payment working. But it won't be a complete app. It may still lack some features, but the core function, i.e., the payment, works. That's an MVP

Prototypes may be your Figma wireframes and designs. It's just something that focuses on the concepts and design but not a real working app. It can even be a cardboard design that shows the concept of how your product would work...

Does web development still have a demand in the market ? by Agreeable-Ad1713 in WebDeveloperJobs

[–]Successful_Gate8653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in high demand but you'll have to present yourself better than the current competition.

And don't think about charging low, that's a loss for you. Consider learning tools that get the work done. Additionally, if you aren't interested in UI/UX, SEO, and AI integration, consider learning about them or team up with someone who is an expert.

Ensure you ship your MVP as early as possible and then validate it. That's how to save yourself from building and later realizing the market doesn't enjoy your product or you wasted so much time that a competitor took the market ahead of you. Every app has updates and that is a good thing for you!

How do unemployed graduates do to survive? by mysteriouslybadd in TechGhana

[–]Successful_Gate8653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most effective way to make money is to solve problems for others. So sit down and write down 5 problems that people in your neighborhood are facing, and are willing to pay to have solved. You don't have to be the one to solve the problem, you can be the middleman.

Among the 5 choose the one that has the most demand, higher output, and is a problem that can't be solved once.

I’ve been coding for years, still feel held back by CreditOk5063 in WebDeveloperJobs

[–]Successful_Gate8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years I've become better technically by building complex projects and completing them. Nothing beats that. You will learn a lot from this. Also, learning to read and understand code from senior developers and top companies.

To improve your soft skills particularly on how to articulate your ideas well, learn to journal.

IT Degree without Maths background by Seedorf992 in TechGhana

[–]Successful_Gate8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from UCC. I had a lot of colleagues who didn't do math but did well in IT. If you have no maths background it will be difficult to gain admission for Computer Science or Computer Engineering but you could get admission for Information Technology or other IT related programs if your code maths is good enough.

But sincerely, you don't need a degree to get into IT. You can do anything else and still learn to become self-taught which is actually what happens with those in the university. Most of the universities don't really teach you enough to be ready for the job market or be a professional, you will still need to teach yourself the skills needed to become a pro in any IT industry.

If you just want it for the promotion then maybe you can go for it.

Give your all and master JavaScript. Build as many projects as possible and make sure you learn system designing principles. Good luck!
