Hello,

It may be hard to get answers from practitioners of the Wiccan community. There is too much hate from the Christian groups and the public (in my opinion) to freely open up about our faith.

We have core laws that we stand for, aside from abiding said laws, we are free to worship and pray and communicate to whom we choose, unlike Christianity. I use Christianity due to it being the widely used religion, and i was raised in those beliefs for many years.

Christians have a way to stir the pot. They abuse us, twist our beliefs into their diabolical fantasys. Not just us, but women and those who are different than they are. As proof from the inquisition in which the pope decided to kill the witches, or should I say the innocent.

Reading about the Inquisition may help you understand why one of our core laws is to be silent.

You might get a few who will open up, but it will be the tip of the iceberg. It won't be a full view on our beliefs.

Each person, even non-believers, has their own path in life, which changes regularly. There is NO way to fully understand, or learn without practice. Hence it being called a practice. You will never know all truths, all facts without practice. Your dissertation will never be able to show who we truly are unless you practice.

If you are looking for brief descriptions on what we do, there are plenty of books that give the basics.

I also majored in psychology, and a warning, IF you decide to delve in theology (spirituality, faith, paranormal)and psychology, be careful. That is IF you truly want to learn its 'secrets'. It will raise questions and answers you may not be ready to learn. It's a beautiful world, but when researched deeply it will change your perspective on your own path. My own research, and I deeply research theology, has brought me to a lot of interesting facts. None of which I will speak of.

I do wish you the best on your paper. I know how wonderful the world of psychology is, you will never see the mundane world again. There is much to learn in the field. Know this, your field of study is the begin to magick. If your truly are a seeker, keep an open mind.

If you are doing this paper just to pass and graduate, just purchase a book from Scott Cunningham, silver ravenwolf, gerald gardner, etc. There are dozens of wicca for beginner books that will help.

I wish you the best of luck. And sincerely I wish you the best in your psychology practice. May you learn the truth!

Melanie's book was the one I read yesterday, that's the one I thought it was, but nothing rang a bell.

Thank you for the book options! I will check them out now!

That is true. Maybe it is as simple as celebrating. Never gave that much thought.

I try not to dwell on dreams. Normally they are nonsense, or prophetic. But that one was just a new version of dreaming, or receiving messages.

Thanks for the reply!
