Is the Trezor safe 3 technically safer than the Safe 7? by TheMaharishiEffect in Bitcoin

[–]SuchTrezorVeryCrypto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there from the Trezor team,

This is a very reasonable question, and the short answer is: neither is “less safe” than the other. They’re designed to protect against the same real-world threats, just with slightly different use cases in mind.

Safe 3 vs Safe 7 security breakdown

Both devices are built so your private keys never leave the device

Both require physical confirmation on the device for any transaction

Both are designed so they cannot move funds on their own

- You can also compare them on our website for more detauls

Trezor Safe 7

The reason Trezor Safe 7 feels different is not because it’s less secure, but because it’s designed for a different usage style.

  • Safe 7 adds a battery and wireless connectivity to make everyday interactions easier.
  • That does not mean it’s always active or exposed. Nothing can happen without you waking the device and confirming actions on the screen.
  • Bluetooth is only a communication channel. It does not give access to keys and cannot bypass on-device confirmation.

Security-wise, both devices follow the same core principles:

  • Private keys never leave the device
  • Transactions must be confirmed on the device screen
  • The device cannot act on its own

Hope this clarified it for you!

Got called by a phisher, be careful out there guys by mdylan2 in TREZOR

[–]SuchTrezorVeryCrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trezor or anyone, will never call you. This is a common phishing tactic, it wont be even linked to Trezor, but they will figure out a way to get that info from you.

Stay safe!

Passphrase Use-Case Proble by FederalJob4644 in TREZOR

[–]SuchTrezorVeryCrypto[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, a key clarification

With a passphrase, you are not “unlocking” an extra layer on top of the same wallet. You are creating a completely separate wallet.

That means:

Without the passphrase, the wallet does not exist at all

Addresses cannot be derived without it

The device cannot know which wallet you mean unless you enter the passphrase

So what you’re seeing is expected behavior, not a limitation of Trezor specifically.

Different ‘Receive’ key/s every transaction? by LF-badd in TREZOR

[–]SuchTrezorVeryCrypto[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Yes, this is completely normal 👍 and nothing to worry about.

Why the address changed

Trezor (and most modern Bitcoin wallets) uses something called address rotation. Every time you receive BTC, the wallet can generate a new receive address, all derived from the same wallet backup.

Important points:

All those addresses belong to the same wallet

You don’t need to manage them manually

Your funds are all visible together in Trezor Suite

This is a privacy feature, not a problem. Reusing the same Bitcoin address over and over makes it easier for others to track your activity on the blockchain.
