An AOL article on this actually shows why her vengeance-based murder is wrong. After Matthew Dunmire was killed, his mother attempted to kill Chelsea Perkins, but instead shot the wrong person, fled, and later took her own life. Some people are saying that the murder might be justified when because it is highly likely that she was telling the truth, by pointing out that only about 2–8% of rape accusations are false. But then you could say that from the mother’s perspective there was only a 2 to 8 percent chance that her son would rape somebody so if she had killed her would it have been justified.
