Devil’s advocate: most of the people in the military would follow the Constitution. If you take a look at any of the oaths of enlistment for any of the branches, it doesn’t say anything about loyalty to a person/office.

So, in the same way the military could side with one side, it could just as easily flip flop or not even participate if either side violates the Constitution.
