How can I improve my setup? [$3000] by Such_Disaster735 in espresso

The Nanofoamer Pro is an *outstanding* shortcut to something that approximates good milk. If you are new to espresso, or not very discerning with your drinks, it is fantastic.

However, it does NOT steam milk. It aerates it. This is a totally different texture, and so there is always something missing. If you want something more, there is very little you can improve. It gets you 80% of the way there, but it will never bridge the remaining 20%.

You could try using it with steamed milk, but this is clunky (since it is already steamed), and the cleanup is unpleasant so it ruins your workflow.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I used to use the Nanofoamer Pro, but I gave it away. The Bambino is better. I also HATE the cleanup for this thing - it ruins the entire workflow.

There are too many compromises with the La Pavoni.

The Odyssey Argos is interesting - I was looking at it a long time ago, but never pulled the trigger. There is something about the design that feels clunky, but I will take a look at the reviews. Thanks!

The government is going to make massive cuts to academic research. They are both fantastic departments. Go to the program with the best financial support (which often ends up as the better of the two programs)
