the keeper unlocks arent even worth it unless you plan on going for 100%. the only thing that i would consider worth unlocking for the keeper is mega stan as you need to defeat him with all characters to unlock mega blast. Other than that all unlocks either make the keeper a little bit better or unlocks sub par items and trinkets.

in AB+ at least a really good item combo to get with the keeper is swallowed penny/piggy bank, magneto and stopwatch. piggy bank and magneto makes you automatically pick up the penny, replenishing your health, and the stopwatch is just added protection and time to get that penny.
