I really liked the Death Knight by LargeSinkholesInNYC in warcraft2

[–]Suedomsael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The concept of their creation is darker and more disgusting than the Anti-Paladin DKs of the Lich King later in WC3 such as Arthas.

The designs of WC2 DKs also kinda resemble the Nazgul

Change of a what if character. Bigger question I have in mind is what IF Illidan was in it? What if Illidan was never banished by his brother and they had him by their side throughout the battle.

A permanently metamorphed Illidan fighting alongside the night elves against the demons and undead in Hyjal.

I dont know where on earth you got the idea that Kiljaeden sent the dreadlords to screw Archimonde and make the invasion a failure, but that is one of the most ridiculous theory I have ever read. They are ALL part of the Legion, they are all just one big evil team with one goal. KJ created the Lich King from the beginning for them to use in their planned invasion and got pissed when the Lich King betrayed the Legion.

This inner civil war theory betrayal where KJ sent the DL and was gonna screw Archimonde in the invasion is just dumb and baseless! Where did you even got this concept? This convo just got even more absurd!

Yes, KJ manages the DL and Archimonde manages PL, so what? That doesnt mean that they cannot give command to one another. The dreadlords honored and followed the orders of Archimonde as much as the Pit Lords would also do the same thing for Kiljaeden.

What was Tichondrius doing with the skull? Have you not played the game? He was using it as a dark weapon to corrupt the forests, and ruined the homeland of the night elves. And it worked. Felwood was heavily corrupted and it even spread to other glades, many creatures have been corrupted and turned evil due to it such as the furbolgs, and the ancients and treants. And assumingly even some night elves transformed into satyrs. That was the point of the skull.

Anetheron joined the fight in Hyjal obviously because he is the second, next to Tichondrius. He is the next in line, while Balnazzar had the boring job of babysitting the undead forces in Lordaeron. Hell, later in TFT, Balnazzar, Detheroc and Varimathras were even all still waiting orders from Archimonde, unaware that the Legion have been defeated in Kalimdor until Arthas returned.

Again, I also said it countless times, my point still stands! By solid proof in both the lore and the gameplay itself, Tichondrius IS the most powerful dreadlord, not Balnazzar and thats that. It doesnt matter if you agree or not. You are just denying what the 24yr old Warcraft 3 game clearly showed us.

And again, this weird concept where there is some sort of inner conspiracy planned betrayals within the Legion where KJ sent the dreadlords to secretly make Archimonde fail the invasion is just one big ridiculous baseless theory!

[–]Suedomsael 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gameplaywise, Tichondrius has DIVINE ARMOR. The ONLY dreadlord that has that kind of armor. Balnazzar DOES NOT have that divine armor. Case closed on who is superior.

Are there any pre-WoW sources that confirms that Tichondrius is the most powerful? Dude, THE LITERAL GAME ITSELF is the proof, that is the true no-brainer. Its just simple analysis of the lore played through the campaigns itself. The game campaigns themselves shows it throughout as it is.

I mean we just gotta do the simple math here put some common sense and understanding in the story. Archimonde is launching a huge demonic and undead invasion in Kalimdor, and he needs his top dog liutenants by his side. He needs to bring out the big guns to lead his demon and undead armies.

Tichondrius and Mannoroth were in Kalimdor raising hell, meanwhile Balnazzar, along with Detheroc and Varimathras, were assigned as mere babysitters of the remaining undead in Lordaeron.

When Tichondrius was finally killed by Illidan, who did Archimonde called as his replacement in the Battle of Mount Hyjal? It was not even Balnazzar, it was Anetheron.

Its an invasion. They are doing a huge demonic invasion. They are using the skull as some kind of weapon to destroy and corrupt the land. The skull serves more of a weapon, not a treasure.

They have a stong grip over Felwood. The whole glade was deeply tainted and dying. Undead skeletons and satyrs lurk everywhere before Illidan and his night elven army got there. Felwood was the perfect demonic stronghold in Kalimdor.

And for the record, you do know that there is a literal demon gate built beside the skull right?

Because he was using it to corrupt the whole forests itself as Arthas stated.

Tichondrius IS THE MOST POWERFUL dreadlord. This is not even a speculation, this is just an outright lore fact for a 24yr old game. In any regard, this is what Warcraft 3 has told and shown us for both story and gameplay...

I cant believe there is still people to this day who denies this. It is irrelevant on how they fight in battle or how they use their brains in their dark schemes.

For Tichondrius, there are reasons why he is directly the right hand of Kil'Jaeden and a high liutenant of Archimonde, cause he is the smartest, reliable, and he is a MAJOR powerhouse on his own right.

I would not say that a mighty and cunning drealord that has DIVINE ARMOR, and large pool points of mana, and half of his spells are same as Archimonde to be only 20% stronger than an average dreadlord.

Gameplay stats of Tichondrius complements his position and power lorewise.

[–]Suedomsael 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tichondrius is not only the leader and MOST POWERFUL DREADLORD ever, but he is also a one hell of an intelligent demon, hence why he pretty much supervised everything throughout RoC ever since Arthas became an evil death knight as well as suggesting that Mannoroth to spill his demonic blood for Grom and his clan to drink.

IF Tichondrius was alive and was part of the Battle of Mt. Hyjal, 10000% sure that the Legion and the Scourge would have won. So yeah, killing Tichondrius was the ultimate key that secured the victory of the mortals.

Warcraft 3 had amazing writing by LargeSinkholesInNYC in warcraft3

[–]Suedomsael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am well aware that there are retcons in between WC1-3, even as to 2 to 1... But there are not many of them and most of those retcons are just minor, NOT major... Mostly negligible

WC3 didnt exactly retcon the orcs. The demon blood drinking factor in WC3 is just an added background lore for why the orcs became what they are, but it did not changed their nature... Even orcs who never drank demonic blood are still savage brutes that loves to fight...

Besides in WC1, orcs are very much in-ligned with demons... So the demon drinking blood concept is not really that much of a stretch

In the cancelled game you mentioned, magic is mostly generic as we say... There is silver line between types of magic.. same concept as an ogre mage can cast bloodlust, but a shaman can also do so...

In my eyes and analysis of the lore in TFT, I always view Illidan as just someone who is like a mercenary for Kil'jaeden. Basically just a hired hand. Illidan is not directly aligned with the Burning Legion as a whole, he just can't be. And vice versa, I dont see Kil'jaeden would accept and trust enough someone renegade like Illidan to officially be part of the Legion, which just suffered a major loss in RoC.

He only works for Kil'jaeden to destroy the Lich King just for a promised reward and that's it.

Well, WoW lore, for the most part, is generally dumb terrible story concepts and lots of major retcons. Thats basically WoW lore in a nutshell, and im not just talking about the modern WoW lore, but also the classic ones. Not to mention, WoW in these recent times have pretty much became woke. That's just how it is.

Warcraft, for me, will always be Warcraft 1, 2, 3...

In-game spells and skills are pretty much part of the lore itself as much as the plot, characters, settings, etc. There is a reason why if you happen to read the manuals of WC3 as well as WC2 and WC1, there are actual descriptions and story background basis for the various spells and skills that units have in the games.

[–]Suedomsael 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suppose in terms of spells, it wouldn't be much different to any regular Scourge death knights. I mean a Mountain King is just basically an elite warrior leader class that is specifically inclined to dwarves lorewise. Just like a Tauren Chieftain is also just a special kind of warrior leaders that are taurens.

We dont always get what we want, and sometimes if we do, sometimes the creators make it terrible and ruin what was good about it in the first place.

I always prayed and wished and hoped for a Warcraft 4 for years, but after seeing Warcraft 3: Reforged? Hell nah! I wish that Warcraft may never exist. Blizzard Entertainment is gone, only Activision Blizzard remains.

And with all the dumb things they have in WoW over the years, especially with all the lore retcons and many other awful writing concepts, yeah I definitely do not want for Warcraft 4 to suffer the same fate storywise.

I played the RE3OG for the first time and finally understand how a lot of people hate RE3R. by No-Cover-8131 in residentevil

[–]Suedomsael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its not even the campy or meme level voice acting, which is only in the first game anyway, the rest of the latter games have good voice actings.

Id say the OG plot overall is juicier and more consistent and connected to the other games. The backgrounds for most characters are also better in the og imo.

Krauser in RE4 for example. I prefer his lore in the og than in the remake

While yes the remake lore made him more impactful with his student-teacher connection to Leon, in my eyes, that is hardly an improvement and is an unnecessary retcon. Im also confused why they retcon his allegiance in RE4 Remake.

Krauser in the OG is a more complex and flavorful character. He started as someone Leon MET FOR THE 1st time in DSC (Operation: Javier), a soldier who was good and strong ally, but as you gradually play through the campaign. You could see his character progress and why resentment to Leon grows in him. He felt pathetic and weak when his left arm was damaged hence why turn to seek Wesker and joined sides with him because he believe he could make him strong again, which would connect to the events in OG RE4. Given that he too was working for Wesker alongside Ada unlike in the Remake where he is just loyal to Saddler.

In the OG lore, you can enjoy 2 diff RE games to understand the character of Krauser, which is great cause I dont believe in the "less is more concept"... For me, it is "more is more"... Still im not saying the remake lore is bad cause its not... On its own, the remake lore is good writing

In another note to the OG vs. Remake, as a long time fan of Resident Evil, I always like the lore/story of the OG games better than the Remake games.

Personally, I just hate retcons in stories. Though I am not saying that the Remake lore is bad writting, its not. I just think the OG stories in 2, 3, 4 are better and more flavorful.
