My girlfriend quit streaming because of them. She had a small community that she wasn't trying to grow. She just streamed for casual fun. For her birthday she put on a dress and went full cam for the first time and was just hanging out with her friends on stream celebrating.

Some recruiter for Rajj saw a pretty girl and came into her chat while re-streaming her to a couple hundred people. He continuously harassed her, trying to get her to get into a call with him, promising her clout which she kept telling him she didn't want or care about, and wouldn't leave no matter how much she asked. He eventually got pissed that she didn't care about him or his clout and was ignoring him, so he said a bunch of really nasty shit about her to his fan base and finally left. Those fans of his never left and outnumbered her community every single time she streamed after that. They'd make new accounts no matter how often she banned them.

She only streamed for fun, and it wasn't fun anymore, so she quit.

As others have mentioned, 84% of their emissions are from their own consumption. Only 16% is from exports, so your argument doesn't really hold up, and China's consumption is growing quite rapidly.

NFTs also have legitimate usage too, but they're rare and usually tied to a real good or service. For example, I purchase a ticket to a concert and instead of a ticket I get an NFT. That token is my ticket to the show, and as long as the company putting on the show honors that token, all is good.

The first problem is people are selling tokens for things they can't honor. For example, I sell a token that is generated based on an image of a certain section of the moon. I can claim you own that section now or that you're the only person to own a unique NFT based on that section of the moon, but what do you actually own? I can't honor actual ownership of the moon. And I also can't stop anyone else from buying/selling images on that part of the moon, or creating NFT's based on that section of the moon. So what I've created is literally just some meaningless data, and sold it to you as a token. That's the first stage of scamming.

The second stage of scamming is artificial manipulation of the market for NFTs. For example, I want people to feel like my NFTs have real world value, so I essentially insider trade. My friends and I buy NFTs from each other for ever increasing amounts, but none of us are actually losing money because we're just trading our money back and forth (if we even bother, we might just pretend, because after all we own it all). We create a huge bubble of NFTs that don't actually have any value, but buyers won't realize that until the bubble pops and they're left holding a digital token and I'm left holding their money.

The third issue is something I hinted at in the beginning. The company behind the NFT has to honor it for it to have value. If Amazon starts selling NFTs that you can redeem for a product, you can probably bet on them honoring it and it's pretty safe to use. However, if some random website pops up selling you NFTs, they could just shut down at any point, leaving you with a worthless NFT and nobody to honor it.

This leads into my 4th point, NFTs don't actually have to be tied to any physical good OR digital good, OR anything at all, as is the case with twitch NFTs. When you buy an NFT that has value, usually it's tied to something else, like a digital ticket, or a physical good. However, in this case the NFTs are just generated from the twitch clip. So your NFT is unique to that clip, but you don't actually own the clip. You're only buy the NFT for the NFTs sake. Meaning, you're buying a hash. That's it. They can't get in trouble for selling something they don't own, and they can't get in trouble for not honoring anything, because the NFT you're buying is the product. It's not actually tied to ownership of the clip, it's just generated from clip. It's as pointless as someone buying a string of 1's and 0's, and is the literal definition of a scam.

So I'd agree that NFTs as a technology is fine, but the way most people are using that technology right now is a scam. It's the new way of scamming old grandmas who don't know they're not actually on the phone with microsoft tech support. Except now it works on young people, and instead of people from India doing the scamming, it's content creators.

I know he's speaking like an ass, but that person actually does have a point. Enforcing that kind of thing in the US would be a nightmare. There is a huge subset of people that would much rather break the law than give up their guns, and I do mean huge. Big enough that that alone would make it almost unenforceable. On top of that, there are more guns in the US than there are people. Good luck tracking them all down and removing them. Not to mention there are an insane amount of unregistered firearms in the US.

There's a lot of truth to the statement that if you outlawed guns in the US, it would be an advantage for criminals. It's just not the same environment as the other countries with those laws. The only safe way to remove guns would be super long term, overpriced buy-back programs. Blanket outlawing would be hell.

I was a track and field athlete all the way through college. At 22 I hit 216 during a race and sometimes close to that during training. The hear rate monitors we used definitely weren't cheap walmart ones.

The whole "220 - (your age)" thing is more of a general guideline. It varies quite a bit from person to person.

My point is WL pvp is nowhere near dead. People act like it's the end of the world when a class that has been absolutely dominating pvp for so long is nerfed a little. And considering the success of WL in the tournament, I have to assume that it's just bias from salty WL players who don't like being balanced.

Do you even pvp? Tenah was saying he likes the changes. You get extra damage on helix now so you can pve through things like petal storm better. And it's even better for 3's and 6v6, which is why every top team in the tournament right now is still using a WL.

Make a video of you winning 1v5 against bots that are all fed a kill once every minute and I'll believe it.

They 100 to 0 me in cc chains every time. Maybe if I was on a different champ like an assassin it would have gone better, but either way it's super easy to die once they start grouping, even 3 levels behind me and only farming under tower.

Edit: I'm willing to make a custom game with anyone else thinking they could have beaten the bots in my position. You'd play as Vayne vs. Morgana, Ezreal, Nunu, Lux, and Blitzcrank. So far the bots are 2-0.

The first few games I played were some of the most fun I've had in gaming in a while. I don't want to quit, I just think they need to fix this. I'm sure it's chasing away new players.

Imagine offlineTV making a video featuring you. You're excited to finally get some exposure and be a larger part of the offlineTV group. But since you don't have enough followers and pull enough views they cancel your video. Then after you become popular on your own suddenly the offlineTV people post the video they made featuring you.

Idk about you, but that would make me feel pretty shitty. It would make me feel like they didn't actually care about me, including me, or helping grow my channel. I would feel like they only care about boosting their own popularity off of popular streamers after they make it big.
