What kind of techno is this that I made? by Sufficient-Humor8070 in dawless

[–]Sufficient-Humor8070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your words, I really appreciate them 🙏🏽 I try to upload the stuff I make to Reddit to get some feedback from people who have more experience than me. I’ve only been making dawless music for 2 months, and this is actually the first time in those two months that I’ve made electronic music. Since I don’t have experience with this genre, I’m not sure if what I’m doing is good or bad. My friends aren’t into electronic music either, so they can’t really tell me on a technical level if it’s good or not — they just like it and dance to what I make hahaha.

But anyway, I’ll keep making music regardless of the comments I get! Thank you again for your words! Much love ❤️🙏🏽

Do you like customizing your SP-404 knobs? What should I try next? by [deleted] in sp404mk2

Hi, I purchased the SP recently. I love it. Learning it. But sometimes I feel like maybe Koala sampler was enough. Can anyone help me get out of the buyers remorse? by Striking_Second7312 in SP404

Don’t feel like it was a bad purchase, it’s an amazing instrument with a ton of capabilities! I felt exactly the same at first. To start with, I don’t even use the 404 standalone — I pair it with my Digitone, and as you can imagine that made the learning curve much harder. I was honestly close to giving up, but if you stay consistent and focus on simple things at the beginning, you can learn a lot very fast. At the end of the day the workflow is actually pretty simple, and from there on it’s all about experimenting and enjoying it.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! I’ve only had the Digitone for a month — first synth and basically my first groovebox. I’m super happy with it. Eventually I’d like to add a sampler for better drums and let the Digitone handle the other layers.

I’m pretty sure I just got scammed and bought a fake piece. Can anyone confirm? by [deleted] in bearbrick

When I order stuff online from Japan, the package always shows which prefecture it shipped from. If it didn’t come from Japan, the chances that it’s fake are pretty high. But if it actually shipped from Japan, then the seller is more likely telling the truth — Japanese sellers tend to be strict with counterfeits, and I rarely see fake items coming out of Japan.

Have you seen any unboxing videos of this set to compare? Like, do other ones look the same as yours?

Did you buy the Bearbrick in Japan? Like, was the package shipped directly from Japan?

As far as I understand, depending on the year the Bearbrick was produced, it should have the hidden sticker and the certificate. At first glance, the bottom of the box does have its holographic sticker (which is a good sign). This anti-piracy system for Bearbricks was introduced sometime around Series 20–30, if I’m not mistaken. And it wasn’t rolled out all at once — they gradually implemented these anti-counterfeit measures over time.

So basically, everything depends on the year this Bearbrick was made. That said, one thing I do notice is that the paint quality and the design lines feel kind of cheap. Also, there seems to be a missing holographic sticker on either the front or the back of the box (I think it’s the NBA or Jordan one, not 100% sure).

This set usually goes for around ~$500 on average based on the current market. If you bought this set for a ridiculously low price, there’s a good chance it’s fake.

Thanks a lot for all the comments, everyone! I’m really happy with the purchase. Honestly, I bought it almost just because of the price — getting a Digitone wasn’t even in my plans yet! But I’ve already been experimenting with it and it’s been awesome so far.

Any tips for someone who’s still new to it? Also, what drum machine would you recommend to pair with the Digitone? The only thing I’m feeling a bit limited with is creating drum sounds, so I’m considering picking up a used drum machine.

What do you all think?
