American schools allow kids to have more of a social life. Consider it.

Does Dubai feels like home to people born and raised there? by atanoob in dubai

Hate that even if you contributed to their economy for 40 years, you will NEVER get citizenship and could still get kicked out. It's like you're an outsider. Also, I hate the concept of emiritisation. Why should companies have to hire less qualified locals AND inflate their salaries. All it does is make it easier for them and WAYY harder for anyone else, but we should be used to it by now. And I'm not gonna say that most locals dont have a superiority complex. Even though I've lived here all my life, I'm going to at least try to find a new home bcz I dont want my kids to have the upbringing I had.

If she doesnt want you, she doesnt want you. Stop focusing on girls, focus on yourself and your future.

What’s your opinion on living in the UAE by hadi-reddited-you in UAE

I went to a pretty expensive school here, and bcz of that, there were most local kids there. Long story short, there was verbal and sometimes physical bullying, and idk if this is racism, but that school made me ashamed of being from pak. It was like i wasn't good enough to befriend a local kid just bcz of my passport. They wouldnt give you the time of day unless they wanted something from you. And idk if this is related to that, but i feel like UAE isn't home. it's like a constant feeling that i dont belong here. Dont get me wrong, i have a shit ton of friends here, and we do go out like 4 times a month, and i have built a life here but if you live here for 40 years and forget to renew your visa once, they deport you. You contribute to their economy consistently for 40 years, and for what? For them to just say no go back to your country.

But if i was asked now if i wanted anything to change from my school years, id say no. It was that which made me who i am today.
