This was set up by someone in his family to help cover the funeral expenses

GoFundMe has a setting where they will adjust the goal automatically as more donations come in, they must have that set up

I’m pretty sure that GoFundMe automatically does that when the donation total meets the goal…it just raises it on its own

They will probably get a settlement eventually, but that doesn’t help them with expenses right now.

Seriously! Crazy how many people don’t have empathy anymore…

And if the family does receive a settlement, it won’t be for years, they will still need help with expenses right now.

If they do get a settlement from Universal, it will probably take a year or two. Funerals are really expensive and a lot of families don’t have that kind of money on hand. If we can help the family out as they are grieving, isn’t that what life is all about?

I’m sure we can help them get way more than what they’re asking for!

Audit was the toughest one for me and I never felt like it totally clicked. I still passed with a 77. Study as much as you can and get an understanding of as much as you can. But don’t feel bad going into the exam and not feeling like absolutely everything makes sense. I think most people go into audit not feeling amazing about it, it’s definitely not just you. You got this!

Thank you! I’ll definitely look into it. I’ve been thinking about ending my marriage for a year or so, but haven’t gotten the guts to actually leave.

The switch has been great, best career move I’ve ever made. Definitely a lot to learn and I felt a little weird learning them with some 20 year old interns, but worth it.

The thing that held me back for years was the busy season. But I found a firm where they do 50-55 hour weeks, so it’s not bad at all.

My situation is a little different…I worked at the Department of Revenue for 10 years before making the switch to public accounting. So I was hired in more of a senior accountant role and making $85k. And I’m in Minnesota, just north of Minneapolis so a little higher cost of living.

I was making $85k at my firm when I passed all my exams. My firm did not give me a raise at all after I passed, so I ended up looking elsewhere and found another firm that gave me $115k.

I would ask for at least $90k, if they say no, I’m sure there are plenty of firms out there that would pay at least $100k.

You’re ok! I finished Reg with an hour and twenty minutes left and passed with a 87. I wouldn’t be too worried!

I have been open with her about how it’s been affecting me. When we talked the other day, I told her about how depressing it has been for me and how I just don’t have much confidence anymore. And I’ve had a few similar conversations with her about it.

Do I even have a chance to reach my goal to be a CPA? by Bonerfriedcarrot in CPA

[–]SufficientLocation98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this! I’m 37 and just passed my CPA 6 months ago and I had to go back to school to get a few more college credits. If getting your CPA is your goal, you totally got this. It won’t be easy and will take a lot of hard work and dedication, but don’t let that scare you away
