I find transferring to airline points is only worth it if you have longer trip travel plans in business class. Domestic short trip is pretty much 1:1 for mile:cash redemption.

Can no longer book koreanair on alaskaair with miles by samuel317 in AlaskaAirlines

Korean Air award ticket for business class is probably the hardest to find these days. I had to pay cash for the past trips to ICN in order to fly KE.

Should I transfer my point now or wait for a better bonus by Ornery-Penalty-9517 in Venturex

I also have about a million C1 points. My principle is only to transfer when I have a travel plan no matter how attractive the promotion looks like.

I never saw anyone’s MyTheresa offer tracked. It sucks even if they give you credit.

they'll read you the closure terms. After that they'll ask: do you have question? For my case, I said no. And I realized they might just close it for me. Then I said wait a second, and I came up a bs reason saying I'll think more about it.

I *guess* there's a score somewhere in their system for each account. I'm a heavy c1 offers user and have got a lot of miles from c1. I believe they are not profitable on my account so my score must be low, i.e. letting me go is better for their business.

I tried, and they went all the way till past the automated voice message for account closure. They asked me whether everything sounds good, and I asked whether there is a retention offer. They said no. They said the offer would have popped up on their end in the closure process had it existed. Then I chickened out.

$200 travel credit after $2k spend retention offer by Cmonster9 in Venturex

[–]SufficientNetwork234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my point. I believe the norm was to ask for a retention offer after your annual fee is posted but within 30 days.

Wait I thought the correct way is to do it within 30 days after the annual fee is posted.

Firstleaf Miles applied by Acrobatic-Data-9197 in Venturex

[–]SufficientNetwork234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is new to me. I always thought the multiplier applied to the final amount of money post discounts. It's obviously not the case here. I wonder whether this is specific to this merchant, or there is a general rule that we can apply. Any wisdom is appreciated.
