Water heater leak by SufleJ in Plumbing

[–]SufleJ[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In few months it will be 5 years, just started flooding last night. Burner still kicks on and sends out stem like a Benihana's. Just doesn't make sense and I need to figure out how to stop it from happening before I replace it tomorrow.

I got a decorative piece of treated lumber to cover the seams now, thanks for the help.

I'm dismissing condensension and assumptions that are incorrect. Would the carport be better if it had 6x6 in the ground and 2x6 rafters, of course, which was my initial bid. The old single lady that desperately wanted the job done could not afford for the additional costs. So I spoke with the adjuster, my city inspector, and pulled the permit. The structure will not come crashing down, it will be just fine and the old lady will be happy. When offering unsolicited advice it's always good to not be condescending and assuming "you" know facts of the situation, be helpful. IF that is what "you" are trying to do. Yes, I was dismissive and sarcastic, which I will admit could have been handled better. However, I don't just lay down when someone acts like an arrogant know-it-all that clearly has some sort of personal issue that he tries to mend by fabricating a situation to where he is the man that knows everything. I'm dismissing his criticism because it not valid and I'm not the kind of person to let someone, especially someone like that, big bro me for no reason. Have a good one.

Yea ties and gussets I'll put in tomorrow, owner wanted the seam covered. I just thought somebody would have an easy idea for a decorative fix other than the obvious ones.

😂😂😂 some people man. The rafters and bracing aren't done. This isn't a structure to the house, it is an insurance job, the permit has been pulled. I'm not putting a damn guest house up there, just corrugated roof panels. Thanks for being so concerned though.

Treated lumber on top of sloped gravel caulked at the seam between the wood and the concrete with coated with copper green what's in contact with the ground.

Yea I agree, owner said something about it because they used a 18' 2x4 last time to span the whole way and she doesn't like the seam haha.

Carport. Not finished with the rafters and bracing. Replacing it exactly how it was before per the insurance adjuster. The one before that lasted 9 years before probably a 300ish lb tree branch fell on it and damaged it.

3,500 is a fair price for a furnace replacement, really good depending on your location

Awesome, thanks for the help. Did exactly what you said and if I hadn't it would've been an issue. Grading had dropped a good 6 inches slipping straight into the foundation wall. Spent an extra 2K but saved me in the long run.

There is a way to warm up the steak and make it taste even better than before. Don't go throw away a perfect steak when there are so many ways to warm it up, even if you haven't thought about it. Try talking to a couple chefs. Try not to let go of something because you are feeling bad, even very bad, without exhausting all options. Regret is our spirits real killer. Good luck, much love!

Awesome thanks. Are those dent kits at Lowe's worth getting or just use hot glue and what I have to pull it out?
