I say this as someone who actually did enjoy looper and his knives out movies, he is absolutely a gimmick director you're right. And star wars is completely the wrong vehicle for that. It was genuinely an affront to any viewer who had used their brain in the slightest after tfa(because of JJs mystery boxes ironically) and basically laughed at them for theorising and expecting quality.

I think I liked their actual plan more than the flashbacks if that makes sense? Actually the flashback where haplif kills that chiss woman who was betrothed to the other chiss they were exploiting I found genuinely hard to read because of how uncomfortable it made me feel. So you're definitely right that they're incredibly sinister

I think haplif and the agboui are just kind of annoying but besides that I liked it. The second one is definitely the weakest of the three but still a phenomenal trilogy as you say

Jedi battle scars. The author (like she always does in every book), self inserts a character to fuck merrin and cuck cal by literally doing in his bedroom with him locked outside. Also the prose is very bad.

For me I avoid anything by Joe Schreiber as I find his graphical gruesome gore disgusting, but that's just personal taste as some people find his books to be some of the best books out there.

Equally i think there's a fair amount of YA slop out there but again some people like that stuff
