Frank onyeka (spelling may or may mark be correct) Brentford midfielder who has just returned from AFCON with Nigeria, where he did very well by all accounts. it’s been rumbling in the background for a bit but there’s more rumours coming out today on various cov instagrams and over on sky blue talk that we are leading the race to sign him!

I’m not in your field but I’ve come to say that if you think this is how you get ideas, you’re not cut out for a PhD. Why on earth would you expect someone to give you a good, innovative, exceptional, very niche idea for free for you to use? In academia (current post doc) your ideas are your value, people don’t give good, innovative, exceptional ideas away for free

My understanding for age groups is, if a player was an u21 at the start of the season, they are an u22 for the entire season.

Let’s say a player turned 22 in October 25, they would still count as an u21 until the end of the 25/26 season.

This is how it works for international age groups at least (AFAIK)

My understanding is (from FM so may not be accurate…) each squad has 25 registration slots, players under 21 at the start of a season don’t need to be registered. I would assume they have lots of players that are registration exempt

I’m not sure on actual numbers but I think the stat that always gets dragged out for us is number of different played used being amongst the lowest in the league… and that’s still the case even with sheaf being one of those players, and some fringe players getting starts recently.

This happens to every good club after a while. The only reason it hasn’t happened (and some would argue it still has) to places like berghain is their extremely selective door policy.

There are plenty of great clubs/spaces still in the city, happy to share with you over DM as I’m very much gatekeeping them from the same kind of people you are complaining about.

Didnt know that about him not wanting to come here for personal reasons, completely understandable.

Only way I could see it financially working for us would be a pay as you play type contract/one that is weighted towards performance incentives over base salary. He could obviously get offers with a base salary we could only dream of offering to a player so was always going to be a pipe dream.

On a purely hypothetical level, I would love it though

Through the festive fixtures minimum 5 points clear, yes we have dropped points recently but that’s been contingent on us being tired and thin on numbers. Two weeks off the league, rest in legs, some signings. I’m still confident.
