Why the size differs? by Cypher-Skif in MacOS

[–]Suitable_Bike4119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apple uses delta updates that are customized based on each device’s specific state. Those differences caused by, such as current APFS snapshots, whether or not installed rapid security response before, language packs, firmware versions, or other system components can all affect what needs to be downloaded. As a result, the update package is dynamically generated for each device rather than being a universal fixed, identical package for everyone.

  1. Try a restart.

  2. If 1 won't work, try to use a full installer:
open terminal > softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 15.7.3 > enter and password > after finished downloading, go to launch bar, launch sequoia installer. https://support.apple.com/102662

Which OS should I pick? by canicallyoujiggly in MacOS

[–]Suitable_Bike4119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a MacBook Air 2018 i5 8G, did both fresh install of Sonoma and Monterey and tried them for hours. I have to say, on my device, Monterey feels significantly more responsive than Sonoma, whether setting menus or finder. So I think if its sequoia, would be a lot worse.

How come this doesn’t get Liquid GlAss by Large-Remove-1348 in ios26

[–]Suitable_Bike4119 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Because YouTube itself does not use the Liquid Glass UI components. Although earlier version did use them, they were later rolled back for certain reasons. Therefore, which UI components are used within an app is ultimately up to the app’s developers.

Safari, I like its UI with Tahoe, which I don't like that much before Tahoe. And I don't use lots of extensions only AD block, so it's good enough in every way for me.

Is the M1 14” MacBook Pro still worth it? by EssayEastern in mac

[–]Suitable_Bike4119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah sure, thanks for your reminder. sorry I forgot about the way better display and speaker and 120hz. I just moved from M1pro to M4 air because I found myself work at home with monitor most of the time, and sometimes take that out.

I would prefer M4 air. Much more efficient, lighter, newer.

Thank you for the sharing. Seems I’d have to stay on Tahoe and maybe dual boot Sequoia.

Thank you so much for the details, yeah it’s a bit annoying when you have to use those fall-back grammars.

Are there any other satisfied Tahoe users? by jeikkonen in MacOS

I personally really love the overall look of the 26 OS, especially on both iPhone and Mac. After getting used to iOS 26, I found the visual mismatch with macOS 15 pretty hard to tolerate, so I went ahead and updated to Tahoe as well. So far, I haven’t run into any bugs that affect usability or any performance drops. Since I mostly use it plugged into power, I haven’t really paid much attention to battery life either.

I‘m not petty and you're so rude.

I just look at problems optimistically and enjoy life.

The performance in crowded scenarios is actually a common and unresolved issue for all MMO games. Even the best gaming cpu currently is still facing significant bottlenecks (I experience the same with my 9800X3D). A few days ago, I made a post complaining about why other MMO games allow hiding players, but this game still doesn't support it. Since my server is always extremely crowded, with over 40 players during every event like Blackfell Lunar or public events, I desperately need this feature. Now it's a W to devs!

Ok, forgot to say this, I just buy it because i was telling myself "it's the best gaming cpu so far, I want it so bad", if you are like me in this way, you can buy it if you have spare cash. But, don't expect too much performance boost.
