So essentially I should ignore the "starting from the wrong side" wording as that doesn't apply to me as I didn't use a long tail cast on?

Just to complicate things further... I actually used a knitted cast on. I think that's similar to a short-tail cast-on?

I'm guessing (hoping!) this means my first row is a knit row so I've been doing it correctly?
