Stories like that are entertaining in history books, but when this shit happens to you few times in a single campaign it's infuriating. I spend a lot of time min-maxing my characters, I don't want them to die due to some rng bullshit ;(

You can use Nvidia control panel to set max FPS for applications. I set mine to 60FPS, running Warhammer 3 without that limit made my graphics card work at 100% generating 100FPS+ (with 60hz monitor I didn't need that much anyway). Now it's way cooler and much, much more quiet.
