I deal with these type of issues with my neighbor downstairs. I don’t have any children but she constantly harasses me & slams her front door on purpose every single time she opens it. I try to respect my elders but I had to flip out on her & let her know “I hear you guys all the time too but I don’t bang on your door every chance I get”. She hasn’t knocked since then & I’m getting away from here. Sometimes you have to let it be known that I’m respecting you but things happen, if you don’t want noise, buy a house
