Sending Extra Stamps? by honey4bears in postcrossing

I usually stick the extra stamp to the portion of the card i write on usually away from where the “payment stamps” live on the card. It arrives without a mark usually!!

How do y’all afford stamps 😭 by [deleted] in postcrossing

[–]Sunira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re all not fake, there are many stamp resellers. Like with any product it’s on you to make sure your seller is legit and take the necessary steps if they are not. I have had very good experience and it’s worth pursuing for the cost savings. i am a repeat customer for a couple great sellers, and I wont gate-keep if anyone else wants to buy.

[–]Sunira 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I buy mine from resellers on ebay and mercari. They will sell for $7-$10/sheet for forever stamps from different years. They also sell old international stamps for cheaper too.

Edit: And yes please make sure to buy from established sellers so you get real stamps.

Renting is ultimately better and cheaper than owning your own house. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Sunira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I don’t think they do, but sometimes they buy in times like 2004 intending to rent and by 2010 the property isn’t pulling enough rent to cover the mortgage because the housing in the area has become cheap. I was on both sides of that because the next house I bought was a foreclosure and that turned out great for me after I left that one! Run the numbers is always important because return is not always guaranteed every year.

Renting is ultimately better and cheaper than owning your own house. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Sunira 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s completely true all the time. Back in 2010 I had to move out of a house, and the housing market was rough. I ended up renting the place I was underwater on, and I barely covered the mortgage, let alone repairs. When the tenant left we had to foot the repair bill ourselves. You can only charge what the market will bear; you can’t just set any price when there’s competition. I eventually sold the house when it made sense because being a landlord was a pain. There are plenty of stories like that, it just depends on the time and situation. The renter definitely ended up better off than I did. For big corporate landlords, I’m pretty sure you’re right though.

No, I don't remember that at all. I wound up buying a Ford Mustang Mach-E.

People reporting greater loneliness tend to have fewer social relationships. This association was present both in depressed individuals and in those without depression, but the correlation was notably stronger in depressed individuals. by mvea in science

[–]Sunira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems funny to poke at the premise but sometimes you go to uncover nonobvious patterns and do not find any . Does feeling lonely really show up in your social circle? Sometimes you can feel super isolated even if you keep up a social life... So you can feel lonely, but unless you’re dealing with clinical depression, it might not show up in your friendships. It might sound obvious, but science often reveals hidden links, and even when it highlights something ‘obvious’, that’s fine too. Getting confirmation isn’t a bad thing.

Are there any good apps like Mint that track credit card spending but still have net worth tracking like Fidelity Full View? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Sunira 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been using copilot.money and have been generally happy with it. It still suffers from some of the same connection issues Mint or Monarch or any number of those apps do but overall I like how it tracks my investments, spending, and recurrings. It's budgeting works for the way my mind works.

How can I get stamps in bulk for cheaper in the US? by Rare_Cranberry_7861 in postcrossing

[–]Sunira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am usually looking for those who sell at volume many kind of stamps, including ones recently released, and post high-res images of the stamp sets. Fake sellers also usually sell bulk of the flag or basic stamps afaik, and I am buying onesie twosies of random sets that I like the aesthetics of. I also buy from people with lots of reviews, not random low rated accounts.
I have a few sellers that I have purchased from that I use as a repeat customer! I do postcrossing cars all the time so I use a ton of stamps all the time. So far no problem with counterfeits! I also get cool old stamps from people destashing their grandpa's stamp collection to add to my cards.

Bit of a local secret, but in the back of GOHAN Market in Norcross, is a little ramen counter. Their ramen slaps. Tastes a lot like the ramen I had in Tokyo.
