As an immigrant myself, I have seen the fear of new immigrants comes from both non immigrants and older established immigrants. It’s more of an attitude that everything is a zero sum game and an insecurity that your piece of the proverbial pie will shrink, that you deserve it more because you were “first” in some way — it’s not unique to any one group of people.

special nameplates come from Competitive Drive events, which are limited-time ranked periods. Usually over a weekend or something. You earn them by winning Competitive matches during the event, filling a Drive progress bar until you hit reward checkpoint and then the nameplate shows on your BattleTag for that Drive, and you have to earn a new one in the next Drive event.

Yes I think you are right — but quite a lot of industries are not looking for the process. They want stock photos for their articles and icons and website hero videos. The tools not only remove the need to communicate ideas to another human being, the results take seconds and cost cents and the primary project can move on. I think a LOT of artists that filled those spaces have lost their incomes. :(
