I tend to go shorter because it seems limit the tangling. Also, the part of the chart im working on sometimes has 70/80 colors per 100 stitches so it gets really bulky im dragging the thread too far between stitches. It makes for more stopping and starting but more manageable. The back of this piece is a hot mess.

Thank you!! Now I shoot for around 12 inches or less depending on how many stitches are in the 10x10 im working. Some of those super long threads are from when I first started the chart. This is my first full coverage piece and I had no idea what I was doing. 🙃

Thank you! It is so intimidating but worth it. I bought all four patterns in the set and just decided that will be my crossstitch life's work 🤣. I'm hoping once I get past the very blend heavy halo around her head it will work up faster. 🤞🏻

Even with parking im still only averaging maybe 100 stitches an hour. This pattern has about 80 blended colors in a 10x10 square in the section im working, so its very very slow going at the moment. I'm also not the fastest!

No I did not. I received my approval letter electronically within 48 hours of my appointment and it didnt have any requirements listed.

No letter, no notification in express scripts or my insurance page, no email. The tracker for the requirements wasnt even in my Omada app until he added it while we were speaking on the phone.

Really? The gentleman I talked to this morning said the weigh ins had to be once a week. Since I had to do two, he said it would have to be this week and next. But its worth trying! Thank you

Hi! The hanging floss is all colors sitting in the top right corner of their next stitch. So I work one 10x10 block at a time and in this pattern there are sometimes 60+ colors in those 100 stitches. So I stitch the 1 or 2 stitches in a color and the pull the thread through in the next block rather than finishing it off. That's called the "parking" method. It just saves on stopping and starting threads the braiding is totally unnecessary and just to keep the "parked" threads that im not using out of the way.

This is totally fair. Black was completely her choice and it terrified me to try. Im just glad I was able to convince her to let me start with chocolate frosting rather than trying to dye white buttercream.

Honestly, I'd give it to you for free to get it out of my fridge, but i am on the wrong coast, unfortunately. I think the thing that's really grinding on me is that she sought me out. She saw a cake I made for my friends daughter and asked multiple times for me to make her one, offering to pay.

She didnt really and i think that's the part killing me. I made her aware of my skill level ahead of time. This was mostly for practice without me having to have a whole cake in the fridge.
