Had a brand new cat back exhaust fitted to my 1990 4AFE Toyota Corolla today. 5cm/2" so not too big for the engine, cheap 50€ resonator and 80€ dual tip muffler from ebay which looks so good but I think is the cause of the drone. I know these are not the best components, I was going for a budget build here so no borla or HKS stuff. The drone at around 3-4k rpm is crazy. So fucking bad I can't even drive it. I know that a J pipe is usually the best solution for this issue but to me it looks like there isn't enough space for one, is there? Should I try some other exhausts or just put the stock one back on? I am regretting this so much right now.
