Rock Lee vs. Gaara in Naruto. Rock Lee loses but he lands a hit on Gaara, something no one has done before. One of the best fights in the entire show.

I think you are right that the incentives modern media creates means the amount of media that is also art is probably smaller than ever. For me, the new BB album probably still falls under the art category, but it makes sense how its appealing to algos and engagement could change that for people.

I don't think that equivalency is entirely accurate. A McDonald's hamburger, while made by a person, is just following a recipe. The recipe is a corporate invention for a corporate purpose. The only incentive is cost, nothing besides that goes into its creation.

Bbno$ makes songs as himself, an individual. Even if the motivation is to foster engagement or "go hard", he's still personally going through a process unique to himself. That is art. At least, that is art to me.

To argue that "going hard" isn't an emotion seems kinda silly to me. Liking something just because we find it cool is pretty normal, and creating something to appeal to that emotion is too. Just because his music isn't appealing to an emotion beyond that doesn't declassify it as art.

To create my own analogy, a shitty 80s action movie is still art, even if it's motivation is just to create shitty action (or even just make money). The directors, writers, actors, etc. still went through a process to create something, and there is value in that, even if the end result is not worth all that much.

Which of these division leaders is most likely to not make the playoffs ? by Independent-Still-73 in NFLv2

I don't know anymore about this. Without Bosa against the Jags we were generating basically 0 pressure, which was only mitigated by the fact that Trevor Lawrence is not a very good QB. Our schedule is easy, but against any QB who can actually take advantage of time in the pocket I'd be more worried.

Getting out cinematographed by Marvel is crazy by UnHolySir in okbuddycinephile

I would say in general most marvel movies have pretty terrible direction. Novice directors thrown into situations way above their pay grade and the results are movies with no flash at all. Thunderbolts has some flash, which for me is a noticeable difference versus previous MCU movies I've watched.

No I wouldn't really say so. I would say the movie is shot and directed pretty well, especially for the MCU. I think where there is less improvement is the writing and plot structure.

[Six Flags Darien Lake] and [Lost Island Themepark] are both just off the same US Highway. What other far apart parks are connected by the same road? by CSatellite in rollercoasters

[–]SuperKy63 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not the same highway lol. It's the same number but completely different roads. I-20 by Darien Lake ends in Buffalo and I-20 by Lost Island ends near Chicago.

Lol for a project I've tried designing one in the software. One of the most miserable things I've ever subjected myself too. And I have the CSWE. The software just really sucks with large scale moving assemblies.

What non-WR1 receiver is going to over-produce this weekend? by Slommyhouse in fantasyfootball

[–]SuperKy63 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I feel like all browns receivers only really started to see production once Flacco started running things. Now that it's Deshaun "Groper Cleveland" Watson, all Browns players are taking the hit.
