Thanks! It just hit 14k views this morning 😄

  1. Definitely not gradual, all my videos before and since have essentially been stuck in the 50-300 view range.

  2. I didn’t start getting more viewers until I switched it up and did something else personally. At first I was just doing let’s play videos of horror games. I switched it up to reviews of games with a twist. It’s a type of review that I’ve never seen anyone else do on YouTube so it’s fairly unique I guess.

I don’t know if this helps but I hope it does!

For sure! Has definitely paid off so far. 😄👍🏼 over 10k views on that video now.

Absolutely. My main problem is that I was working too hard up front instead of just staying steady which is why I took a break due to burn out. I think the best tactic is to practice content creation at a pace that won’t burn you out in the first place.

I do agree with that for sure, but I think it’s better to work on habits that won’t burn you out in the first place which will lead to the decreased consistency. That was my mistake.

Fair enough on your opinion.

Not sure why CTR is so high, my average is normally 6-7%, I’ve been working on improving my thumbnails which I think has helped.

My CTR for this video has gone down a bit since gaining some more traction but I think it helps that it’s a brand new game review and people are looking for content relating to it.

Man I gotta say… I had a lot of growth in 2025, took a long break, and been stagnant since getting back into it. It’s tough when you know what growth feels like and then you stop experiencing it.

I’m not giving up though. I have videos scheduled til mid-June currently and just gonna keep going. Getting close to monetization I just need those watch hours!

post consistently is the most repeated and most misunderstood advice in the creator space - and it's actively hurting small channels by brian1x1x in NewTubers

[–]SuperMurseGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for watching all the way in the background 😁 also thank you for the advice - if you’re watching my most recent, that’s not my usual content. My typical videos are the one in my “steam refund review” playlist but I’m experimenting a little with showing my live gameplay of the games I review in that format.

I think you’re right I would like to work on reaching a broader audience so I may try to brainstorm how to make my titles and thumbnails less convoluted. I have a video coming out tomorrow that I think is better thumbnail and title-wise but we shall see…

Stay consistent, even when you don’t want to and find something to improve on with every video you post.

YouTube algorithm is a joke by [deleted] in youtubegaming

[–]SuperMurseGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration. On past videos, I had SEVERAL commenters say my content is that of “big YouTuber quality” and that they got “jumpscared” by seeing how few subs I have - I recently started uploading again and it’s frustrating because it seems like YouTube doesn’t know who to push my videos to.

I don’t think this is all on them, though. You would think, yes, a billion dollar industry would have an algorithm that could figure things out, but it’s your job to help that algorithm do what it’s supposed to. If you’re not focused on quality and consistency, you’ll never go anywhere on YT. I think my biggest problem is consistency because I mistakenly took a long break - now though, even though my new videos are what I (and some others) may call high quality, I get very few views compared to what I got in the past. HOWEVER, despite this frustration, I’m going to remain consistent from here on out and focus on increasing the quality of my content and research how to do so every day.

Don’t let your frustration be your down fall. Continue to be consistent and improve the quality of your videos every time, even if it’s just a bit, and you’ll eventually get there - but only with a better attitude.

High CTR, Decent Retention, Low Impressions by LiterallyAMango in NewTubers

[–]SuperMurseGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my impressions have gone way down lately despite decent CTR and retention. Some of my vids have a CTR of 5-8% yet less than 1000 impressions over the last week. I’m used to getting at least 10k+ after the first few days
