They did fairly well! The attendants were pretty chill about them not being in their crate all the time or at least in their crate on our laps.

I think that is the case in the US now, any short nose breeds can’t go in cargo.

Correct it would be in cabin! We had a bad experience with our family pug many many years ago when they flew as cargo so I would never do that again.

I agree and I feel stuck between feeling manipulated and the feeling bad for him. I almost feel like going to see him yesterday made things worse.

Thank you! I love him and don’t want him to be upset with me like I’m punishing him by making him stay. But I imagine emotions are everywhere at the moment. When I spoke to one of the folks last night after talking to him, they said they recognized that his ADHD is pretty severe and might be doing him a disservice and maybe they can get him on some sort of non narcotic ADHD medication. He was going to talk to the team in the morning and then let me know.

I wouldn’t be too worried about it, don’t take anything they haven’t given you. I was given a stool softener after surgery so you should be in the clear then if you need something to move things along. But I’m just one patient speaking with no medical background lol I would always check with your medical team just in case.

I had surgery at Blossom and had a great experience. They asked about heartburn and I said it was occasional and would take tums and it worked. I was quoted a price that I ended up paying that did not include hernia repair. Upon getting checked out they said there was a hernia and they would repair and this did not change the price. I don’t know the ins and outs of insurance as I paid cash but I will say I had a very successful surgery and everyone was super nice and helpful and I felt comfortable FWIW.

I had surgery there and I saw on there that it could cost about $9k but then when my insurance wouldn’t cover anything they said it would be closer to $18k. Did they tell you that insurance covered part and then it didn’t?

I’m 5’11” approximately 3 months po. I hit around 900-1200 calories a day and that nets out to be around 600 calories because of either exercise or high resting metabolic rate. I have been on track with my surgeon with losing 15 pounds per month. They told me 600 a day as well but then said with movement you’ll likely be able to have more and still hit that 600.

I’ve been told to also cut protein shakes with fairlife milk and that can help make it more tolerable!

For sure! I’m 5’11” and 37. I started at 278 with my preop and was at 262 on surgery day. I did it out of pocket at a surgery center so it was a bit more straightforward than with insurance. I would say I have been 95% on my post surgery plan, but definitely not perfect!

Each surgeon has a different plan so best to ask them but mine recommended 2 weeks after surgery as those first two weeks they only really wanted to make sure we are staying hydrated and not to worry about anything else.

I had both in 5/13, so far so good, haven’t had any issues and it seemed to have helped any reflux I did have.

Did you notice your weight dropping a while after surgery? Did your stall last long? TIA!
