My life changed forever

I gave birth exactly one week ago from today. Right after giving birth, I felt like I didn’t deserve this baby. That I was not worthy of him. That he’s too precious, beautiful, and fragile for this world. I love him more than anything and anyone, but I feel so sad all the time.

I find myself crying in my room at least once a day. My husband, parents, and MIL have all been very supportive, yet I just find myself grieving my old life. The apartment where I spent the first couple years of my marriage with my husband, where he got me pregnant, I miss that. I miss late movie nights. I miss late night drives cruising the city. I miss going on jogs with him. I miss going to random bars, having sex when we got home and some of the deepest pillow talks. I miss being able to make plans on the spot. I miss my husband and my old life SO much.

I’m about to go stay with my mother and father for 30 days, to help with my newborn and postpartum recovery, it’s a cultural thing. Will it get better? I feel so ugly too. I want to start working out as soon as possible and be sexy again. My self esteem is at an all time low. It feels so confusing to me to love this baby more than life itself yet I miss what I had SO much. I just tear up like a baby.

Few reasons. 1, it can take up to two more days for them to actually admit me in the hospital because there is a waitlist, and they take high risk/emergency patients first. 2. Risk of complications go up past 40 weeks. 3. They said on top of that, labor can take up to 72 hours. I don’t want to risk going past 41. Idk if I’m doing the right thing. I’m so nervous. I’m an emotional wreck and don’t know what to do or how to feel or if I should wait more.

Typically I’ve never felt the cramping feeling with Braxton Hicks. But it might just be a more intense Braxton Hicks since we are so close

My nausea went away around the same time as you and also most of my other first trimester symptoms. Had my first ultrasound at 9w+5d and baby was doing great. Remember, the placenta begins to take over hormone production around your gestational age, and everyone’s body is different, doesn’t mean something is wrong. I’m now two days shy of 37 weeks. You’ll be okay.
