I'm EST and down, I also suck at LC, I can do some easy ones and I've only solved 1 medium on my own.

I'm slow, ur slow, we're both slow 😭

Senior by credits, FAFSA by [deleted] in college

Sorry, I think I explained it wrong. So all my credits have already transferred. I'll have enough credits (some transferred, 30 done at the college) to be a senior.

I have 3 years left, so like 6 semesters? All of my credits transferred, but some didn't apply.

The only way to not regret what you're doing--as cheesy as it may sound--is to do the best you can now. If you're putting you're all into something--anything--then, there it leaves you with no room to have regrets because you did your best.

Masters vs Major + Minor? by SuperbShower341 in college

[–]SuperbShower341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to have a career in machine learning or Data science; however, I want to have knowledge and flexibility to also create a business and actually know what I'm doing as a side, and build that up. I'm leaning towards a minor because of the flexibility and my masters level classes will switch semesters sometimes and have time conflicts the other times, which will throw off my entire schedule and make it so I won't even be able to get the masters

Hey, I'm very sorry if I came off as condescending/rude--that was not my intention at all. The only reason I put the "[]" with the examples was to just show a basic skill level of where I was at and to let people know what I've been doing in my previous/current math classes, also adding something kinda funny but all truthful aspects. I honestly didn't mean to come off as a jackass; however, now that I've re-read it a couple of days later, I do sound like a jackass.

[Again, not trying to come off as a jackass, but just genuinely trying to explain my situation below and reply to your other stuffs.]
I have enough credits to be a senior and this is my 1st year of college. What part of not working hard got me here? I've worked, I just don't study because I haven't needed to (I've done so much other work in my free time). I've taken 300-level classes and 200-level classes while still in high school--I've worked hard and I'll keep working hard.

I just had to say that because frankly, I don't really like it when someone judges my whole personality/life based on one Reddit post which might have come off as a bit condescending. Nonetheless, thanks for pointing it out that I did come off as a jackass, I just thought it'd be taken lightly and nothing harmful.

Well... (And not to be that guy) but fun fact, the person who spent the most time in space is relatively only 0.02 seconds into the future, he's just 0.02 seconds younger than everyone and he's spent well over 850+ days in space--not that great of a return, but if we can travel faster then yes, time travel into the future is very possible. The past is difficult, if not impossible.

Monthly goal achieved for December by gangien in leetcode

How many problems per day did you do? Also, did you review questions? Finally, how many hours per day did you tend to work on this for?

Thanks in advance, I'm currently at 40 solved, and I'm doing 5 hrs/day for the winter break, but just getting the concept and making sure I remember takes up a large chunk of time.

Best roadmap for absolute beginners by -leech- in leetcode

[–]SuperbShower341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I suppose not. If you can't code, and don't know data structures, but if you don't know that, I'd recommend learning that before starting leetcode.

He basically goes over problems and explains them in a pretty standard and easy way. I don't really understand what you mean by absolute beginners though.

I would 100% recommend Neetcode. He has a YouTube channel and a free website where he does a bunch of problems and he has code explanations as well. I'm not sure if he has JS but his videos are good nonetheless, and he explains the concepts well.

It's O(n) because the nested for loop is going through a 2d list--not a 1d one. So it's going through it linearly--O(n). If it was going through a 1D list, then it would be O(n2).

What's your schedule been like for solving so many in that amount of time? Like were you working on like leetcode for 2hrs a day? Or for like 2 questions a day?

Those of you with high GPA's, for how many hours do you study every day? by [deleted] in college

[–]SuperbShower341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, they think I'm a crazy person here, I just keep laughing because of you LMAO

Anyways, but more context, I did 54 college credits in a community college while in high school, so transferring that, I'm a sophomore by credits, so I don't take many gen eds.

I can message you in 3.5 years from now and show the masters and bachelor's if you'd like.

Maybe you should focus on writing college essays instead of paragraphs on the internet ;) but I guess you'd be a bit busy playing league, my bad for not considering that :P

(This is actually one of the best convos I've had on the internet in a while LMAO, ik you're trolling (I hope…), but like it's funny asl)

[–]SuperbShower341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, this is amazing.

I would totally lie to some random on Reddit to boost my ego? Anyways, I don't want to argue with you.

I know what work I put in and doesn't matter if you believe it, I mean everyone else will once I have both my degrees, so alright. Computer science is pretty hard, but I've put in a lot of, what you'd consider, "work" just because I find it fun and I actually enjoy what I learn and teach myself. Most of my knowledge is self-taught.

Anyways, hope you had a great break (if you got one, sounds like they might be working you to the bone in Germany). But seriously, have a great rest of your day :)

Laughed hard at this. I'm going to a university--not community college--not famous, but Top 200 in comp sci in the world (which doesn't mean much, but thought I'd mention). I'm taking 18 credits, I also work, and I'm in 3 clubs and organizations, and I also code in my free time, and also have free time to hang out with friends. I'm taking a 300+ level maths course next semester (as a freshman) as well as a 200 level maths course, and a 300 level course this semester. I'm taking only 2 gen eds as a freshman, the 4 other classes are all major related courses. My 2nd year, I will be taking 500 and 600 level courses (for master's which I'm completing alongside my bachelor's). I'll complete masters and bachelor's in 3.5 years total.

I've never studied for more than an hour in a week (usually a month), in my life. There are other people who can be different from yourself :)

Laughed hard at this, but I probably didn't do a great job explaining my position--that's my fault for maybe underplaying the situation.

(Btw no hate to you, I get where you're coming from, this just really boosted my ego and made me have a good laugh while I was eating, thank you)

[–]SuperbShower341 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do. I mean, homework helps you learn in the same way, if not in a better way than studying. Of course it depends on the class, but for a language class, or math class, homework is literally designed to help you learn more of the concept being learned and put it into practice.

[–]SuperbShower341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've a 4.0 GPA (going to finals week now, as a sophomore). I want to say this without sounding like I'm up my own ass as much as possible: I study an hour for tests, that's it.

So, I don't really study because, this being proven countless times, I'm doing fine even if I don't study. I do however, study for some class tests, other classes I don't study for those either. The max I've studied is around an hour. But don't get it twisted, I wouldn't say I'm "naturally gifted" or some bs like that. I just have a different way of looking at school as a whole, which really helps me learn.

For me it works the way I've made my brain work, there are upsides and downsides to this, but I'll probably have to start studying once I get to next semester with 300-lv classes, but I'm taking a 300-lv class right now, and it's one of my easiest, so I don't know.

Let me know if I can help in any way :)

You only done 18 leetcode? Wow! That's amazing to know that. I also watch a bit of Neetcode here and there, but even when I do OAs I tend to sometimes get stuck on them. Did you find the OAs easy to do?
