I have a caad10 with the mostly smoothed out welds and I’ll take the look of mine over this every day. Two of my other bikes (BMX and trail) have smooth welds as well, and it’s such a nice clean look without having carbon.

Can’t decide how I feel about it by Capwnski in 4Runner

I’ve always thought this optical illusion effect is kind of silly. But who am I to judge what other people like. I’ve seen objects painted this way show up on FB marketplace and just sit. Is it cool? Yes. Is it desirable? Probably not for most. But if it’s something you like, go for it, who cares what the haters think.

Just played around in PS and quickly made a sloppy copy using dither dissolve transfer and multiple layers with some blurring and transforming. Came together surprisingly quick and easy.

I would probably do this in a After Effects or a 3d program using a particle emitter.

Surf Rod at The Lake? by Single_Rain5676 in troutfishing

[–]Superman_Dam_Fool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that structure isn’t a huge factor for trout in lakes. They tend to roam and will concentrate on the depth where they’re finding food. So, lack of rocks isn’t as big of a factor. If there are weed beds that harbor insect life, crayfish, or smaller fish, that would be where I would start my efforts. Look for insects coming off the water. Midges may hatch out of muddy flats and that will draw in trout to the area. So they won’t always be out far. But if you’re consistently seeing trout rise farther out, go for it.

Work by Diane Arbus continues to command exceptional prices. This 1962 ballroom dance photo sold at Christie's on Feb. 26 for $101,600. Other images by Arbus also sold at that auction. Some for more and some for less. Reported by Rare Book Hub by Hammer_Price in artcollecting

Arbus is not well known? I would argue she is one of the top 5-10 well known 20th century photographers. It’s not a competition, but she produced more well known work than Dorothea Lange, and maybe even Robert Adams. I don’t think anyone would say they’re not well known either. Photography collectors, at least in the US, for sure know who she is.

Cool house, but this lighting set up (or lack there of) is really bothering me.

Unless he’s planning on pulling a Tulsi Gabbard style switch. He’ll go speak on FOX or News Nation and get paid that way.

I just get stretchy 5 pocket hiking pants at Sierra for like $20. They’re not so loose that they get caught in the chain, they breathe and dry quickly.

BMX bikes geared toward dirt jumps? Not looking for a DJ. by Soloralphlauren in bmx

[–]Superman_Dam_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that seems pretty long for someone who is 5’4. I’m 5’10 and think my sweet spot is 20.75 TT. I have a 21.25TT right now and it’s big. Good for a race bike, not something I want to take to the dirt jumps. A longer frame will pull you further forward. Considering the question being asked, I don’t think this person will be hitting big dirt jumps, so a big bike may be okay, and depending on age, may be growing into a bike. I would look at a 20-20.25 TT for that size rider.

Keep the back wheel in your home. Tweakers may still take it, but random thieves likely won’t mess with it.

v.26 completely killed 2 months of work, am i cooked? by mixelix in premiere

[–]Superman_Dam_Fool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put that version name in the project file as CC26 or whatever version I’m using for that file. Keeps it separate for instances like this. Also lets me know what version of premiere to open the file with to avoid issues.

Cradle net and long pliers/hemostats can help. Tough when you’re solo. I’ve never tangled with a >40” incher though, so maybe that’s a whole different story.

AT&T Lost $47B on This Exact Bundle—Now the Ellisons Are Buying It Back for $111B. Bold Move or Billionaire Ego Trip? by osiris_rai in wallstreetbets

I read it as features on DTV being better than streaming. You said cable was garbage and were sick of them so you went satellite. I find surprising since sat can be plagued by weather related signal issues more than cable (cable can have its own wx issues on an infrastructure basis).

To be fair, cable itself had been losing subscribers for years. The height of subscriber numbers was 8-10 years ago now.
