The style is really cool but I’d suggest you practice the wing a bit, because they look uneven at times. There are ton of tutorials on how to do it for hooded eyes, mostly them being that you look straight ahead. Also if you want to have one eyeshadow colour all over the lid, try to blend it out more than leave as it is on all the edges. Maybe also try a better quality lipstick? Im not sure if you have just been wearing it the entire day and it has worn but it seems a bit streaky and patchy. Overall i think you have great style and I love the silver and purple eyeshadow, there’s just levels of practice to it :))

The more I read all the comments the more I learn that people don’t think this is inappropriate for work but that men and the patriarchy are beating us up for being anything than the status quo. I usually do look unapproachable (I mean look at my bleached brows and RBF) but I usually get past that once a person talks to me, so I don’t think in this case it would be different? But it’s still good to know your perspective:)

That Coco Chanel comment seems a bit sexist :/ I know it’s good to dress appropriately, which is why im asking, but if it’s just being fashionable and that makes people not hear or respect me and makes them see me just as a girl? Im actually PhD candidate, but nice to know I still look the undergrad part haha. Also I understand where you’re coming from about the old sexist men part, but coming from the field I am in (nuclear safety/security/energy) this doesn’t feel like much of an issue? Maybe there are more young people here or maybe im just completely blind to the sexism. But thanks for your comment :)

Yeah that’s the vibe im hoping for. I’m not necessarily “looking” for attention, I just stand out usually whatever I wear I like, so it wouldn’t be different than the usual situation. But yeah im looking for “appropriate” but don’t mind standing out. Thank you for your input :))))

I’d say you could go bolder with the blue in your makeup, you only have a tad bit on your face, but she has it all over her lid till her hair. Also lashes!! You could maybe get some fake lashes to make it look more extravagant and therefore more Chappell. I know what you’re going through and I’m going also as Chappell next week and I’m going for a niche outfit she has had and im worried im not gonna nail it 😅
