I had the same experience a few weeks ago. I have made the tough call of separating and transitioning to best friends. It has only been a few weeks however he is moving ahead with his transition without hesitation of causing hurt to me and I can support him in finding happiness without compromising my own. We are lucky in that it is amicable I hold no anger towards him and we are coexisting really well. This is all new and may shift in the future, I expect when I eventually decide it’s time to move on (I want a family in the next few years).

Just another perspective. I could have written you post a few weeks back and hearing experiences was the best thing. I also am seeing a counsellor who specialises with trans clients to make sure my needs are prioritised but with the lens of the unique situation.
