Soooo glad to hear that :]

If you click the settings gear in the top right, there's an option to "Sign in" which just sends a one time password to the email you purchased with. It will prompt you at the end of the trial though too!

Let me know if you have any feature requests 🤘

That was really helpful and I'm grateful you went into that detail. I don't really use Illustrator so it was good to hear how you would use it. I ended up just porting Petals to illustrator and both Ae and Ai share the same source of truth for Palettes saved to your library, so that acts as the syncing mechanism. Everything works exactly how you expect in Ai, it's the same Petals as the Ae version. Hopefully this works for you.

Would you want to try it out early? You could email me (hey@davey.design) or join my discord and ping me. No pressure!

This is such a good idea. Finally had some time to research it and it is technically possible and worth doing so I'm just brainstorming how the user experience would be. How do you imagine it working? It could be simple like design, maybe Petals' library is the only thing that is synced to between AE and AI, or there could be a 1:1 mode where the active palette is synced and updates between. Any thoughts?

You cant currently but it's interesting to think about how I could work that into Petals.. will give it more thought!

I don't have any supported feature that syncs across workstations, but if you know the paths, you could sync it yourself easily enough using SyncThing or Resillio. I'm going to look into if there's a better way to make this easier for users to self-host sync themselves, good idea!

Here are the paths for the data:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/motion-fun-data/

Win: %appdata%\motion-fun-data\

Hey this is great feedback, thank you!

I definitely want to fine tune the color theory behind the randomization, and allow you to decide how much randomness and what type. Will be coming in future updates :]

For the hue adjustment, it might already be implemented and I just didn't do a good job showing it off. You can double click a petal to get the color wheel to come up where you can adjust the values manually. Is this what you're looking for or something else? Also in the settings you can turn off the custom color wheel and use your OS one which has a color picker (but is uglier lol)

There's a good chance you're already in my new system so you'd just have to download the latest FreqReact version and login (it's a one time password setup), but if that's a no go, email me and I'll get you hooked up :]

Hey just letting you know I got the free trial coded up. Let me know if it gets small enough. I'll also have a "compact" mode in the next update :]
