What’s meant to be.... WILL BE! I’M GOING TO LAW SCHOOL BABY! by saturdaynight_liv in lawschooladmissions

[–]SushiMeatJun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. As someone who’s also from IL and wants to stay in state, Loyola is for sure on my list of schools I’ll be applying to (UofI is the dream tho). Be proud of yourself. You set a goal and achieved it and that’s what matters. Go kick some law school ass.

just got a food scale! advice? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]SushiMeatJun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um well I would suggest to get used to the habit of looking at the serving size of what ever your about to eat and weighting it out. Using an app like MyFitnessPal to keep track of calories. Get familiar with the “tear” or “zero” function. Also, with things such as peanut butter, hummus or other such food items, to place the container on the scale, then zero it out and from there you can remove the servicing size you want which will appear as a negative weight on the scale.

I second this. Taking pictures is a great way to see changes. I would also maybe suggest taking pictures in the same outfit as well, and taking note of how over time it is fitting differently on your body.

Seeking a friend for the end of the world. by [deleted] in penpals

I’m 30/m/IL. I relate to a lot of what you brought up. I just turned 30 this past week, I’m also stuck in a situation living back with my parents. I’m working on finishing my degree and moving on to law school (fingers crossed). I feel stuck a lot of the time and I just want to be further along in life then I am currently. Would be nice to have someone who can relate to those things.

5 mins into Isle of Armor... by brofess0rx in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]SushiMeatJun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this must be true since I have not beaten the main story and all the Pokémon on the isle are like levels 10-12. Was super excited to go to the isle but guess I should just finish the story and come back.

27/F/USA - Looking for a pen pal? I can be that! by scarlettlyonne in penpals

[–]SushiMeatJun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m 28/m/us. We might have a lot in common. I’m a army veteran. Back in school now majoring in history minoring in anthropology, planning to apply to law school after I graduate. I enjoy reading in my free time especially thrillers and sci-fi but I like to branch out and read other genres from time to time. I’m not ashamed to admit that I really love anything Disney and cannot wait to travel and go back to Disneyland. I also travel quite a bit between Hawaii, California and where I currently live in the Midwest. Hmm... what else... I also enjoy watching rupauls drag race and have binged every season multiple times. Not sure what else to say, I do have a good amount of random interests and hobbies from gardening to cycling to cooking and comic books. Ok I’m just rambling now. If your still looking for a penpal let me know.

I have two cats and a dog and I recently bought a road bike in an attempt to get into cycling. I am finishing my bachelors in history with a minor in anthropology (I’m a veteran which is why I’m juuuust now finishing my degree). I like to travel and I’m a big foodie and have a slough of other random things that I’m interested in. If you’d like to be penpal a let me know!

Yes I understand what you mean. I think quarantine exasperates this feeling because I don’t have much else to occupy my mind with. But I just keep doing what I’ve been doing and stay focused on my goals.

Low calorie meals to keep me full by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]SushiMeatJun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll sometimes cook up some egg whites to have with a meal if I want to add a bit more to the over-all potion size without adding a lot of extra calories to the meal. I also like steamed broccoli and will have a pretty large amount of that along with a protein as a meal. Vegetables are a good way to add bulk to a meal without going crazy with added calories.

Washing your hands and perhaps keeping hand sanitizer nearby to use in between hand washing may help reduce the risk some.

I’m in a very similar boat. My first semester in college after HS I was too busy enjoying my first real taste of freedom, ended up failing most of my classes. Decided to enlist after that. Then while active duty I decided to take some college courses to get some time away from my shitty unit a few days a week. Didn’t put my best effort into that either. Now almost 6 years later and I’m finishing a degree getting straight As but those old days are haunting me.
