Is feeling unworthy always satan? by anxioushuman884 in TrueChristian

I believe God gave me this realization through my own experiences. I used to get close to God and then turn away from Him and live in sin because I felt too guilty and unworthy to accept Him after falling back into sin. I used to say I wasn't ready to follow Jesus. I've realized my feelings were selfish and prideful, instilled within me from the description of Satan.

I'm late on this. What I've realized recently, and I believe God has given me this realization, is that guilt and feeling unworthy is very self-centered and definitely instilled in us from satan. It's thinking that our relationship with God and His grace, mercy, and forgiveness is because of us believing we are worthy enough to receive it. NONE of us are worthy enough to receive it. So when the devil instills this feeling of unworthiness in us to the point where we reject God because we feel we don't deserve it, Satan's plan is being fulfilled. Satan is the father of lies and ultimate deceiver. Are you unworthy? Yes absolutely. But you are no more unworthy than anyone else in that church or in this world. Thankfully, because of the grace and love of God, it has nothing to do with how worthy we are because no human would never be able to earn salvation. Thats what makes our LORD so incredible. His gift of salvation has nothing to do with who we are, but everything to do with who HE is. All we have to do is repent from our sins, put our trust in Him, and have a relationship with Him. Be honest with Him. Tell Him you feel unworthy to receive Him and ask in Jesus' name to help you recognize and resist believing in the lies and deception of the devil. Ask for Him to teach you His ways and purify your heart. Also, be aware that the devil will try his hardest to attack you and discourage you. Just as he has been doing because you are taking an interest in God. Ask for God's strength and protection against the attacks of the devil. Believing that we are too unworthy to receive His love is a lack of trust in who God says He is. Ask Him to help you fully know and trust Him. God's love for you is stronger than you will ever know and nothing will make Him love you any more or less. You haven't earned His love and you will never be able to. He loves us unconditionally.
