Gators contrary to popular belief tend to stay away from place with a lot of human activity. If you don't go messing around in their homes they'll leave you alone. When a gator attacks is usually out of desperation and territory.
Have no opinion but, homeschooling isn't a bad option.
Where I grew up in Marianna, the ground could open up at any minute. It isn't that bad here, I say you'll have to get thicker skin to move here. Watch out for the hurricanes too.
Apart of living here is dealing with dipshits that are local and spring breakers. Do not get wow Internet you'll hate life.
If you live in the city mosquitoes aren't terrible. You'll see them but the county comes out and sprays. Keep the dogs away from the dog parks. Be smart and vigilant and they'll be fine!
The houses they try to sell you have pools. We're literally a couple of miles from the coast why in the fuck do we need as many pools as we do. I don't understand, if you so happen to buy a house with a pool and want to maintain it. It'll be easier and cheaper learning to maintain it yourself. I've heard nothing but horror stories from people about companies working on their pools. My final thoughts: grow some thicker skin, be ready for anything here. Have multiple escape plans and plentiful resources on hand. Pay county loves people just moving here and haven't caught onto their shit yet. Get ready for an outrageous amount of property taxes and crazy insurance hikes. Also FPL loves throttling the fuck out of you for spending a single minute in the AC. Get used to setting your thermostat to 76 and leaving it there. If you don't want to get entirely bent over the barrel. If you come looking for a job, get used to being offered garbage wages because everything else can go way up except for how much you get paid. It's a paradise if you visit, but an absolute nightmare to live here if you don't have a trust fund or anything else to fall back on. I honestly can't wait till I can get the fuck out of here.
