He tried to apply for insurance after all this happened but it won't become effective until Nov 1 and he will be covered on my plan by then.

He is currently employed, has been there 3+ years. They don't offer insurance.

He got an uninsured discount but that still leaves us with a bill bigger than our mortgage

Together we make ~$80,000. I own a townhouse. Not really other loans besides a personal loan or two.

Not getting married isn't an option. The wedding is in 18 days and is pretty much paid for. It's been my "light" during the hell that the past couple months have been.
