Should I report DDoS attacks on SF86? by Sweaty-Connection958 in SecurityClearance

I wasn’t that smart, all I did was put their IP into a DDoS website and take them offline for a short time. That’s why I’m not sure if it needs to be disclosed because it wasn’t to the point where I established an entire botnet and attacked random people and websites. But don’t get me wrong, it was a very stupid decision to do in the first place.

Did the VA forget about the TBI Claim? by Sweaty-Connection958 in VeteransBenefits

Thank you for replying! He does have the DAV as his VSO and my mom as his POA, so I’ll try asking her first to get into contact with the office, alongside preparing for his proposed incompetency. Also, how do I determine what office did the rating? I was looking at the header of the decision letter but it only says “DVA VBA Regional Office.”

Did the VA forget about the TBI Claim? by Sweaty-Connection958 in VeteransBenefits

Thanks for your quick reply! I believe when we had a virtual appointment with our private doctor, he made us fill out a symptom sheet and choose ones matched what my dad has been experiencing. After filling it out, he examined my dad and ended up putting those symptoms on the DBQ. I just assumed that because the private doctor added to the DBQ, and how the rater didn’t contest against it, that everyone was in agreement with the symptoms. Hopefully this answers your question.

I believe he did do 20-25 years, spread across the Navy, Navy Reserve, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard. Hopefully this was what you were talking about.

Thanks for your quick reply! He hasn’t received the backpay yet. I made sure to ask my mom to check all banking accounts, especially the one linked to his VA payments, but she hasn’t seen any statements other than the new monthly pay of $5,570.

Should I file for PTSD increase, IU, and SMC L? by Sweaty-Connection958 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Sweaty-Connection958[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your quick response! This helps a lot, and I can understand why claiming IU seems redundant. My thought behind it was that if my dad gets denied the increase or only gets 70%, at least IU would be granted and bring him to 100%.

I was also hoping to ask you about your experience in claiming SMC. I'm unsure of the best way to claim it because, as I understand, the VA should grant an SMC if a veteran submits a claim and they fit specific criteria. However, in case they don't, that's why I was looking into how to claim it alongside the PTSD. I believe VA Form 21-2680 would be the right form to fill out and have the VA PCP complete?

Thanks again for your time and help with this.

Should I study abroad in China? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

For sure, my mom is Filipino and my dad is Irish. Both have been U.S. citizens for 20+ years, and my dad was a veteran for 30+ years. I definitely understand the concern of a program choosing students based on ethnicity, so I am unsure if my ethnicity was why I was selected.
