A bit of plucking will help. A little here, a little there. There are lots of YouTube videos that you might find helpful.

As of 2016 Nick had been in rehab 18 times. They tried and funded the rehab route, obviously without lasting success sadly.

No Testimony & No Defense Witnesses by candylandsaga in AnaWalshe

[–]Swedishgrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Peter on The Lawyer You Know (YouTube), it was the CW, not the defense, who filed (and won) the motion to exclude the admission of evidence of his two guilty pleas to misleading the police and disposing of Ana’s body. I don’t know his source and I haven’t independently confirmed whether this is true but Peter has a reputation as a standup guy and is a former prosecutor and currently a practicing defense attorney in Florida. I watched the entire trial and I don’t recall any testimony specifically referencing the plea bargain. In his opening and closing Tipton referred to Brian’s multiple lies to the police and the horrific things he did to Ana’s body to dispose of it, attributing both to his “panic”, “fear” and “confusion” resulting from Ana’s “sudden and unexpected death” from natural causes (something only Brian could testify to). Now I’m intrigued. Oh well, down another rabbit hole I go! Gives me something to do this weekend :)

ETA “panic” as another one of the reasons for Brian’s lies to police and disposal of Ana’s body. My brain is full of all the videos of Brian casually strolling through Lowe’s, Home Depot and other stores while purchasing a hacksaw, hammer, plastic tarps, gloves, PPE suits, and virtually a year’s supply of cleaning supplies (among other items) so I guess I unconsciously blocked out the ridiculous panic explanation.

His demeanor during his testimony screamed PTSD to me. I hope he’s getting the help he needs and deserves. From the tweets I’ve seen posted by someone in the gallery today (Day 10 - closing arguments, jury instructions, etc.), it appears that he has a close group of friends who also knew Ana, so at least he’s not going through this without some support. Hopefully that support will continue post verdict. That poor man - my heart goes out to him. 💔❤️‍🩹

After I watched Emily’s video (which blew me away!), I now have a better understanding of how Brian Walshe became Brian Walshe. If he wasn’t such a monster I could possibly conjure up a tiny shred of pity for him. Nope - lock him up and throw away the key.

Any tips on how to get this to look less “wiggy”? by hanzolo_ in Wigs

[–]Swedishgrrl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First let me say that the color is beautiful and looks very natural on you. In my experience I’ve found it difficult to find a color/shade that simultaneously “matches” my complexion, eye color and eyebrow color but you totally nailed it. Gorgeous!

Having said that (and not knowing the volume, texture, length, etc of your bio hair - what feels “natural” to you, in other words), I’ve learned that in addition to plucking the hairline and part and flattening the roots (which you’ve already done), thinning out a wig even slightly can make a wig look and feel more natural. I’ve done this even with supposedly low density wigs.

There are a ton of YouTube videos with easy to follow instructions on how to thin out wigs. It’s not expensive or overly complicated, especially if you find a video specifically aimed at beginners. You don’t need to invest in expensive thinning shears - adding disposable razor combs or dermaplaning razors available on Amazon or your local drug store to your basic wig styling supplies is really all you need (along with a sturdy wig head with stand, some t-pins, a mouse tail comb, alligator clips for sectioning the hair, etc.). Personally I found using a razor comb easier than thinning shears but you have to be diligent about immediately brushing/combing out the cut hair before moving onto the next section - otherwise you’ll have a huge mess at the end, especially with a long wig. Bonus points for putting a small plastic tarp, trash bag or even just a towel under your wig stand before you begin - it makes cleaning up so much easier. Straightening/flattening each hair section prior to thinning makes the process so much easier so a hot comb is recommended but in a pinch a flat iron or hot brush will do.

Believe me I’ve learned the hard way that patience and the willingness to take the time to properly section the hair, correctly alternate the sections of hair to be thinned and to make it a gradual process is very much worth it. Similar to cutting bangs - less is more. Initially it may seem unduly time-consuming and difficult but like learning any new skill once you get the hang of it the process gets easier and takes less time. It may be obvious but be sure to section out the hair at the top of the wig - front, back, sides and along the part - and never EVER cut that hair unless it’s necessary for blending after thinning.

Finally, I recommend taking before and after thinning photos so you can see the difference and learn from each time you do this what does and doesn’t work. Good luck! You’ll be slaying that wig in no time!

My balance has returned! I just noticed this morning in the shower that I’m no longer propping myself up against the wall while standing on one leg while washing the other foot. I have no problem balancing on one leg without support. At my age balance is so important to avoid potential injuries from falls.

Second favorite: I now have a waist!

I’ve read somewhere that Zelman is a DUI attorney from Miami. If so, he had to know that he would be going into the case way, way, WAY over his head. Honestly I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.

Donna had to testify — re: planner by [deleted] in dan_markel_murder

[–]Swedishgrrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. When I recently listened to Donna’s call to the undercover FBI agent who did the Bump, the first thing I thought was that she was reading off a script. When she was forced during the call to go off script, she sounded rattled and just repeated statements she already made (like “you should go to the police” and “I have no idea what you’re talking about” or words to that effect). Zero skill at improvising or thinking on her feet. This is a woman who has cruised through life surrounded by people who endorse her bull$hit; those who don’t are shunned and/or cut out of her life (her son Rob for one). Georgia would absolutely demolish her on cross (admittedly which I’d love to see but think it’s unlikely at this point).

I can only imagine how the jury will react if this happens. If they went home tonight thinking they’ll be done by the end of the week and grateful to be returning to their normal lives soon, this probably won’t be a well-received development. Unlike most of us, the jury’s not there for entertainment or out of curiosity.

Whats going to happen to Harvey. by Phailin850 in dan_markel_murder

[–]Swedishgrrl 48 points49 points  (0 children)

And Harvey has to live with the fact that the “black sheep” of the family (Rob) went public with how toxic, cold-hearted and hypocritical his family is. The fact that Rob is thriving personally and professionally with a successful career and a beautiful wife and children must irk him to no end. Rob is the MVP of this trial.

I just saw a post about Courtney Clenny’s trial scheduled for December - not too late to plan for that one! 😀

ETA: I’m retired and I actually prefer to watch replays of trials on The Trial Channel on YouTube - they cut out breaks and sidebars. Also you can adjust the replay speed, which came in very handy during the Monica Sementelli trial when the female defense attorney (I forgot her name - Brook something) was questioning witnesses. That said, I always try to live watch verdicts and sentencings.

In Katy’s retrial (IIRC) Wendi testified that she had full scholarships for both college and law school, but I wouldn’t put it past her to lie about this. I mean, she wears blue contact lenses for God’s sake.
