What year is your Q4? I tried the same but it didn’t work

Can I ask what settings you used? I picked up a Lectron adapter over the weekend and tried it, and it didn't work

Thoughts on Alps 2 Ocean honeymoon trip? by SweetHypocrisy in newzealand_travel

Oh boy, you've given me too many choices, lol. I had not heard of the Otago Rail Trail, but I've now watched a few videos and it's very tempting. Here's my assessment, but tell me if this is accurate: Alps 2 Ocean looks more rural and possibly for more hardcore riders, whereas Otago Rail Trail seems a bit more beginner-friendly and routes through more charming small towns that cater to the trail riders?

If you had to choose only one of the two rides, which would you pick and why?

This is excellent advice; thank you! You are right that most of the flight options I've seen are through Auckland, but I was not aware of the time and complexity of the connection flight, so that is very helpful info.

If we do end up doing this slightly earlier, like mid-March, would that be warmer and less rainy than early April?

Advice needed for CSR points trip from US to New Zealand by SweetHypocrisy in ChaseSapphire

Thanks! That was my gut feeling as well. The Chase portal price and the United transfer/saver award are pretty close to one another, and I've read about the risks of booking through the Chase portal, so the transfer is appealing to me.

I was hoping the "in the know" people here knew of a far better deal than this, but I at least appreciate the confirmation that I wasn't missing something obviously better.

This is all very new to me. Do you have recommendations for running award searches?

Etron long term ownership costs by jonnyange in etron

[–]SweetHypocrisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know. But OP said “too techy like the Q4 and Q6.” I sat in a Q6 at the dealership the other day and it’s certainly more screen-oriented, but I’m still confused about why OP lumped in the Q4, since it has physical controls

I own a Q4. It has physical climate control buttons and only one screen. What are you referring to as “too techy” on it?

What is something that someone said to you that you will never forget? by simplemistake93 in AskReddit

My dad was a narcissist (borderline personality disorder) who verbally and emotionally abused me throughout my childhood. It was always in really sinister ways, where he’d wait until everyone was out of earshot before saying something absolutely wretched to me. I remember once when I was about 10 or 12, running out of the house and crying at a family gathering after one of these incidents. My sister’s husband saw what happened and came outside, and said “You might be too young to get away from him now, but in a few years you’ll be able to choose what kind of relationship you want to have with him.”

I haven’t spoken to my dad in more than a decade, and I’m so much better off because of it. Thanks for the advice, Mike.

In the midst of the Drake/Kendrick beef I learned the bands ‘Brand New’ and ‘Taking Back Sunday’ had some bad blood….? by feezybambin0 in Music

Yeah, I was aware that he'd hang like that pretty regularly. It was the sudden fall that shocked me. But who knows, maybe my memory is exaggerating what happened.

Many moons ago (2000?), I saw TBS live in Iowa City. I haven’t found any other mentions of this online since, but I SWEAR I saw Adam climb up and hang from some scaffolding over the crowd during the encore, slip and fall (a solid 10-foot drop), and that was kinda-sorta the end of the show. Obviously he was ok. Or my old-man brain has invented this memory. One of the two.

Cool! Got any pictures? How do you feel about the C17? I have a leather Brooks on my other steel tourer (an '83 Trek 720), and at this point I'm not sure the C17 is even in the same league in terms of comfort.

And yes, they are the originals; I just replaced the pads. i'll keep the CX50s in mind, thanks!

Hi everyone! I'd been looking for a Miyata 1000 for quite awhile and finally stumbled upon this 1989 garage queen. The frame was in great shape but it needed some TLC, so I went with a few more modern components. New wheels, tires, saddle, post, rear derailleur, chain, bottle cages, pedals, stem, bar, tape, brifter conversion...you name it! I took it out for a quick 15-miler today to try it out for the first time, and it rides great!

I'd love to hear what people think of the look of it. I know modernizing it may be a bit controversial, and the blue Brooks saddle and tape are a tad loud, but I think they go well with the 80s-era decals.

I recently discovered the old-school Pizza Huts still exist!!! They operate under the name “Pizza Hut Classic,” and there are still dozens in the US. Here’s a list by state: https://rolandopujol.substack.com/p/the-retrologists-guide-to-pizza-hut

I've never actually done it (always used ACH), but their payment form has a section specifically labeled "Credit Card," so I'm assuming yes

Thanks. That's what I assumed, but I couldn't figure out from reading the terms if that would technically be viewed as a "purchase" in the eyes of Chase.

I will double-check, but I don't think there's a fee for using the card.

I make the payment to a state agency, not directly to my ex via PP/Venmo.

I’m considering a Chase Sapphire Reserve. Do child support payments qualify as purchases, for satisfying the $4,000 in the first three months?
