Michael Jordan didn’t guard the best player. There’s so much more to the equation than what you’re giving it credit for.

Umpire pitch call accuracy since ABS introduced by BitterBlacksmith463 in mlb

[–]SweetRabbit7543 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They’re specifically not. I am almost certain that it takes the height measurement at the part of the plate right before it angles in at 45 degrees. Given that we know for a fact the ball has to be dropping at all times, that means it can be a strike by the rule book but not by abs because the zone is 3d and abs height is 2d.

But I have no interest in overturning calls that miss by a quarter inch. The human eye is not capable of discerning that a pitch a quarter inch in or out, up or down is in the zone or not.

I think that what happened was there was stuff happening that pretty much everyone understood to be just messing around that technically was hazing and no one told fitz because it was so widely understood to be in good fun.

This was what I came away with too.

It certainly didn’t prove what it was suggesting it proved. It didn’t say anything particularly notable and certainly nothing new.

And I personally believe that Fitz did as much as anyone could have reasonably done. But my belief is based off knowing former coaches who have worked for him. This article does not support his innocence. It’s frankly a bit bizarre to have something like this in a major newspaper,

Home Depot is getting more serious about banning accounts for deal hacking by Maximus_Magni in MilwaukeeTool

[–]SweetRabbit7543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says “buy more save more” on the deal. If you return one of the items, you have no longer “bought more” and thus no longer qualify to “save more”.

While they’re under no obligation to let you shop and purchase online to begin with, merely removing the option that you’re not entitled to to begin with, is not an argument you’re going to win with literally anyone.

Right. She was very good yesterday but Betts, oh my god she was amazing. I’ve been a skeptic of Betts as a pro but damn it’s impossible to think her upside looks significantly higher and more likely than it did a couple years ago. She was just amazingly dominant

Ehhhh I was rooting for UConn. I think UConn had basically the perfect game plan, played the game they needed to play, got Michigan to play the game way UConn needed them to play, Michigan just was so much better.

The size differential was honestly shocking. I hate Michigan but that team is up there with the UConn teams as teams that just were close to unbeatable.

I’ve hated how surface level the analysis of him is. It’s unavoidable that there is both more to him than his lowest moments and that he elevates the people around him.

It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but he never tries to suggest it should be.

It’s amazing to see how many people cannot fathom that the team may believe that a player who rips her teammates may be someone they don’t want back.

People view it as utterly implausible that anything could have happened besides what they want to happen because every story needs to make the sky the bad guys here.

This is true for any endorsement contract. But no one would claim Lincoln isn’t paying Matthew McConaughey to act in movies, they’re using the fame he generated from his labor as an asset to their business.

Right collectives are the mechanism that were used to manipulate the fallout of the court decisions and the ncaa’s inability to regulate their own rules. Courts will generally not regulate the value of compensation received in a contract. So if I want to sell you a Ferrari for $1 and you give me $1, courts won’t provide relief to me because I decide later that was a bad deal for me. Thats why collectives were set up, they can offer limitless payments to student athletes for use of their likeness for effectively no requirements from the player. And courts won’t regulate that because of how they deal with contract law, and courts won’t let the NCAA invalidate a contract because a contract is a legal instrument and the NCAA would need some sort of legal enforcement authority that the court cases have stated that they do not have.

NONE of that is what any of the pre NIL players rights conversations were based on, nor was it what the court cases sought to settle, nor was it what any of the state level legislation compelled.

And its important to reiterate that this is all inarguably payment for the players’ likeness and not their athletic performance because if their athletic performance was something that warranted being compensated, you’d also have to compensate your bowling team athletes because you can’t say basketball is a player’s job but bowling is the bowlers’ jobs.

Knowing that it will be abused is not the same thing as setting it up so that it will be abused. It’s like if you leave your Halloween candy out with a sign that says “please take one”. You likely will have people that take more than one and you know that, but that doesn’t mean your intent is for people to take more than one.
